Thank god it wasn't my Z!
Hi Mark, I am a young one and 5 years ago when I was 16 I wrecked Mommy's car. Luckily no one was hurt, but it was a very hard way to learn a lesson. However, I quickly found out that driving was a serious ordeal. I don't do any excessive speeding or fast lane changes unless forced nowadays, and especially with my beloved S30. The track is so much more fun anyway because you can push the car as much as you can handle, as I am sure you are aware of. I am basically saying that hopefully your sons's learned their lesson and that they are lucky that they weren't hurt. I agree with the New Zealand police because there really should be a place were people (kids) can go to race at a track or at a safe environment were they can let it all out. This would let kids get used to their cars and it would decrease their urge of road rage if they knew that they had a place to do it were there was a lot less risk of hurting themselves, others, and not having to worry about getting tickets. Take care, Ben

ZG flair copy's in Australia
Those flares look awesome. I have always liked the 432R (ZG) flare look, although I don't think I would put them on my car as I am trying to keep it original for the most part. Someday I hope to have a Zed with the 432R style flares for the ultimate JDM machine:devious:. Until that Z comes along, I will live my dreams through the photos you guys post of your JDM flared cars. Good luck with the flares guys. Ben:classic:

Restored Hubcap
That looks so original. Now I am going to buy a set of cheap dent and curb rash free hubcaps on ebay that need restored. Thanks a lot for this photo.

Color for grill/rear tail light panel
Hi Jimbo, I am interested in how your wheel cover comes out as I would like to do this someday as buying hubcaps in immaculate condition is very costly. It's nice to see other 260z owners that love there cars here in the US.:classic: Take care, Ben

Color for grill/rear tail light panel
This looks so much better than my rusted, paint splotched grill. Ben:classic: p.s. I am going to wash her tomorrow because she is very dusty as everyone can probably tell.

Color for grill/rear tail light panel
I just painted finished painting my grill last night. I started with a Rust Tough primer after sanding with 600 grit/wet. Then I sanded the thick coat of primer with 600 wet again. Color was added, and I used the Dupli-Color Graphite WP102, and then the Rust-oleum 1902 matte clear. Here is the first picture. I should have taken the photos of the grill before it was installed, but after it was dry I was too excited. I had to put it on. I am really happy with the color and finish. Ben

Many 240Z Parts For Sale!!
Do you still have the steel wheels from the parts car? Would they be for sale? Thanks, Ben

what is my z - C-GS31 ?
Your car would be called a Fairlady Z 2/2. The "G" in your vin# means that it is a 2/2. The S31 is the later version of the S30 starting in 74-78. Correct me if I am wrong anyone. Post some pictures of your car, we would love to see them. Take care, Ben

Color for grill/rear tail light panel
Hi DatsunZguy, was that combo of paint that you have there for the earlier steel colored grills or for the later black grills? It looks black to me, but it is hard to tell. Thanks, I am planning to repaint my grill because there is some over-spray from the re-paint, but I am trying to figure out the most cost effective and accurate color to do the job. Thanks, Ben p.s. I just looked in your gallery and the grill looks black to me. Tell me if it is grey at all because I believe mine is and since my car is a 74' and your is a 72' I would think they would both be silver-gray as mr. Camo mentioned.

We made the cover II
I was at the local Barnes and Noble bookstore yesterday and I came across the June 2004 "Classic and Sports Car" magazine. I saw the old 240z/350z comparo. I decided to buy it and it is the best 240z/350z comparo that I have read. They finally give Matsuo and his team the credit for the design of the S30! I had chills run up my spine when I read that because I was expecting the writers of the British magazine to credit Goertz. I was wrong and I am glad. If anyone gets a chance to get a hold of this magazine read it because it is a good read and it really puts the S30 on the pedestal that it deserves. You will be quite surprised that one of the forum members has a little say on what he thinks about the 240z and 350z. Ben:classic:

Nissan planned for 3 carb Z
I was reading in a Road and Track magazine from 1974. It was the one with the Fairlady 260z 2/2 with a G-nose on the cover. One very interesting part about the reading was that it stated that Nissan Motor co. was thinking about installing the LY engine in the 260z. We all know that this did not happen , but was this something that Nissan was really contemplating? I am sure that it would be too expensive to intsall the crossflow SOHC LY head with triple Mikuni's on a production car, but it would have been very cool. It would have been the Z432 of the 260z. Hehehe, Z431. Hehehehe. It was really interesting to read about it though. Ben

Nissan planned for 3 carb Z
That is really interesting Kats. Were there Z432's that went through the rigorous testing that the L-series powered s30's went through? Were the mounting points reinforced compared to the L-series? I do not know a whole lot about these cars, but I do agree with you Kats- The s30 with a S20 is a very sexy machine. I would love to hear one someday. Own one.... Ben

Konig Rewinds
I saw this auction of a pretty nice looking Zed. I was concentrating more on the Konig Rewind wheels that are on it which is a pretty rare site. Look at the center caps. From what I have heard, the konig center caps will not fit on the front. This one has some very nice center caps. I really like the stance of this Z with the thick rubber. The wheels do look like they stick out 1-1.5cm too much. My favorite part about this auction is the seller's extensive discription ::. Take a look. It really is a nice Z. A little too high priced possibly. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6187&item=2481720159&rd=1 Ben p.s. These wheels look pretty cool to me Carl.

Need Panasport Opinion
The Volks are my favorite modern wheel. I have seen them in 14 by 7j 4X 114.3 with a very low offset on an ae86. They looked great on that car. I will have to scrounge through my pictures. I am sure those wheels would fit and look great on a zed. It would make a zed D1 cool.

What came first , Fairlady or 240 ?
It's okay 1genzed. It is difficult to post emotion on a forum and my post probably sounded pro-Fairlady Z stomping by the goat, but I was really joking around. Take care and good luck with your Zed. Ben:classic:

All Japan Fairlady meeting
It may mostly be Z33's and Z32's, but there is a 240ZG and a the Z432-R! The PS30-SB that Alan has taken so many pictures of. Thanks Guycali for posting the link. I especially like S30 that looks to be 305 blue with the black hood. Just beautiful cars. I am going to start saving my pennies for some Watanabe's now. It is official. hehehe Ben:classic:

Trying to idendify Wheels
Go on yahoo or any search engine and type in babblefish translation. You can translate websites as well as copy and pasted phrases. The translations are not super great, but they are much better than characters.

Opinions/Knowledge on Triple SU's
I have only seen triple su's on an e-type Jaguar. Does the article specify that it is for a L-series engine?
