1977 280z: 80Amp Alternator
Didn't read the whole story but i would not (as an electronics guy) put an 80 amp where a 50 or 60 was the standard alternator, the cables are not made for those currents! Better get some led-lighting (save a lot of amps) and then use it for example for your aftermarket seat heater.. Were do you need 80 amps for in a car? your stereo? 😉 Your engine is enough music! Hahaha.. just my 2 cents..

Prop shaft and half shaft phasing
Yeah.. the capstan-shafts in tape recorders had those tolerances, they were made by STUDER. Switserland.. (It's that axel that drives the tape in a taperecorder, those recorders could cost up to about 700000 dollar.. woepsadaisy.. 😵 )

Prop shaft and half shaft phasing
I never had that.. you use the original bolts (they fit very snug) and nut with the spring ring? I always use the originals and never had that problem.. shaking yes but that's because my early 71 car has no diff arrester band.. not even the connecting stuf on the underbody.. they are not there.. at 200km/hr it shaking vigarously but.. oh i have to restore my 240z for the 3th in it's life haha.. maybe in 2 years or so.. The driveshaft is a important part that needs to be in balance, i would bring it to a specialist, remember it turns at a high rpm and if it breaks it could break your legs right slamming through the chassis thats how dangerous it can get. (It would be exeptional but it's not impossible.) Talking about 0,02 mm or 0,0008 Inch.. i worked with parts that had a max play of 0,001 mm or 0,00004 Inches... (Mechanical-Electronics)

I don't know that one.. The only thing i can say, watch out, many s30 cars are in bad state. I see that they are in Almelo.. If you want my 30+ year Z-eye looking for you .. you could take me with you to them, costs nothing just you have to pick me up and bring me home.. send me a PM. if you need some specialist eye haha.

The picture of the battery tray is: A HOLE IN ONE ! (sidepanel..) 😆 I think that if you are a good welder you can make something of this car.. I don't know about boxed frame rails.. you @mailnome mean there are framerails over the old ones?.. i don't like that.. i think you (nico) have to consider new floors and rails and ad the cost to the car... i would go for a 240z not a 280z, carbs are so much more simple. Have you looked on www.marktplaats.nl here in the netherlands for a zed? sometimes there are good cars for the money..

Yeah, i asked a dealer ones for that stuff but he (Here in the Netherlands) could it only deliver it in a 5 ltr container.. and costs were around 80-90 euro's pfff.. Maybe there are half or 1 ltr bottles now?

Agree, no silicone.. maybe do some investigation around oil holding products? The plastic breaks because the oil is out and things get brittle. I'm glad here in europe we don't have that problem with the heat...yet... (last summer it was over 40 degrees Celcius here .. that's over 104 F Pfff...)

Help with Front Bumper mount Area
HUH?? WHAT?? 🙊 Unless the car in these pic are upside down ... then you can mearsure it this way but as i can see the airbubble in the spirit level IT'S NOT! You CAN'T use a spirit level that way! In the middle green glass is a small bow.. this has to be with his bow always UP.. Am i the only one that sees this???? You have to measure this with the spirit levels top side your holding it upsidedown.. this never works! 🙈 In both pictures you have to keep the spirit level right up not upside down! OEFFF!!! 🙈

(Budget) what do I do
There are many LS swaps in your country, You did'nt give a lot of info on your car but i asume you have a 280z or zx, as they get more expensive it's better to keep it stock. I think a lot of those people who have done the V8 swap are more and more regretting they have done that and did'nt keep the L-series engine. So.. restore the engine yourself for a few hundred dollars! You learn alot and if you don't know what to do or how, we can help you do it the right way, just ask.. remember, there are no stupid questions there are only stupid "students" that don't ask!

Bumper Fitment
Most carpeople don't do that they always refer to left and right seen from the drivers seat.. You could say: seen on the left IN this picture.. otherwise it's confusing. Hihi, i'm glad an english man does also not know a word for those "thingies" 🤣

Question on front bumper rubber/moulding
Hihi... take your time, these parts are in stock for over 30 years hahaha.. a few days more can't hurt. @Zup Hi Jim! Your next on the list 😉 Question, These fillers are used only on 240z? or also on 260z? As you might expect.. these are rare pieces (very long in stock) and have theire price.

Question on front bumper rubber/moulding
So those are the filler pieces i got.. Nice, Thanks! If @Dadsun don't want them for the right price (PM me.) these NOS parts are for sale.

Question on front bumper rubber/moulding
Maybe a "specialist" on USA type 240z's can chip in, could it be that you are missing these? (The Euro version don't have these..) (I got a set of these, they came from a garage here in the Netherlands and are about 35 years old but new old stock. A technician ordered the wrong part...it happens!) I've seen these go for 200 dollar a piece! and were in worse state.. If this is what you need you can make me a offer, but remember the shippingcosts are also high, if interested i could get you a estimate on shipping costs.

Bumper Fitment
You need some rubber round thingy's to close those 2 holes in the front, orig. euro cars have them. these are about 3mm bigger then the hole is and stick out about 2,5 mm. And are a bit conical.. Here on the rear bumper to see, they are the same.
-
Bumper Fitment
You fixed it! It looks very good now!! Btw.. your left and right was wrong.. your bumper was offset to the left not the right.. when you look to the front of a car.. on the left there is the right side and on the right there is the left... confusing hey? ( Always look at it if your in the car sitting behind the wheel.)
