Brand new 'Quick Racks'
What ratio? Maybe i'm the guy standing besides the person with "i'm with stupid" on the shirt? 😉 But i still not understand. If you mean ratio between the wormwheel and the gearwheel.. then turning the steering wheel WILL be more difficult, as Derek says..

Sorry but what do you mean with quicker? In stead of 2,5 turns it's done from left to right in 2 turns or?? Then you need even more muscles to steer the car.. 😟

No Spark issue. Negative voltage on ignition switch.
Hihi.. The amps you could say.. (not voltage) Lesson in electricity.. Volts are always standing between 2 points.. Amperage is (current) in ampère going through a point/cable. Thats why you have to change your cable connection on your meter when you go from voltage to ampère. If your not good at electric things buy yourself a ampère clamp meter. You don't need to switch the cables (and make faults) and just put the wire you want to know the ampèrage from, into the clamp and the meter will tell you if there is a current and how much.. it's almost witchcraft! 😉 AND you don't need to open the circuit, thats a big plus! And your meter will NEVER blow up! Also a BBIIIIGGGG plus hey? Amp clamp meters can easely go to 1000 amps without braking down.

The only thing that comes up is your car has the Plus on the chassis.. the battery cables are on the wrong pole? they are different diameters so the cables are on the wrong spot. Does the Plus go to your chassis? and the minus go's to the starter? The ground should be minus and the big plus lead should go to the starter! Pictures show more than words! I would like to see whats the case ..

Any advice on a 4 Post Lift
I've got a ISTOBAL.. 3,5 tons (metric) build in 1985 used daily in a garage.. restored and sold to me in 1995 and a fine machine! Made in Spain.. I would look for a good old one they are made well. Mine had new cables, a new paintjob and a new cylinder gasket and new pump.

Classic bucket seats?
Haha.. no.. i had to make a small dent in the rear left wheel housing to have a good fit for me behind the wheel! It's no problem it will come out when i remove both seats when/if i install the König seats.. As they are red/black they would fit very nice in my red 240z.

Classic bucket seats?
Hallo Reinier, jij hier? hihihi... Hello Reinier, you here? 😉 In the 70's they used these König seats among others..(I've seen them on google pic's in rally 240z also in yellow black!) Now at the moment i have a "scheel autostoel" in my 240z that gives me a lot of support for the corners and is also a much better seat than the original ones. I you go for some other seats better not sell the old ones, there comes a time you want to sell your car and original seats make a more easy sale.. Maybe some day i put these in my 240z that could use some updating...

I need help with a electrical issue on my 1976 Datsun 280z
Get yourself a service manual (download) as there can be a million issues with the electric system and walk through the complete system.. Get al the contacts clean and at one point you'll see a very bad contact, that was the culprit. just go through the whole system.. it needs a clean anyway after all these years.

New project
I once went to my german dealer and asked why my chain had 3 bushings missing.. he sayd: you probably start " to slow " when the light go green at the trafficlight! 😉 The time i hit a tree was after a wheely gone wrong.. it turned it's head straight for the big oak. Just as the front wheel hit the ground i hit the tree so no time was left to brake. I still have the oilfilter.. completely smashed.. it sits right behind the front wheel in the middle of the engineblock.. also the front wheel looked like a heart! 🙄

New project
DID someone say: post your bike?? My Fireblade.. drove 294km/h on the german raceway eh.. highway.. 😉 This bike normally has 2 ugly braces going from the tank to the mirrors.. A dealer sayd no after i asked can this be made on another way? it's damn ugly? He sayd it to the wrong guy! Made myself some strong triangular steel replacement parts IN the fairing! You can see one side clearly inside the fairing connected to the mirror (on the right mirror) I later on checkt and it still works fine by 280 km/hour ! I can see clearly how others behind me where not keeping up ! No shaky mirrors! 😂 After i smashed this bike, and restored it i sold it to the son of a friend! That good it was again! My friend did'nt believe this was the same bike as the one i smashed against a big oak... i can still feel the hit... Then i became a bit more sensible.. bought me an old... yeah a Gold Wing 1100.. Hahaha with a trailer! (Trailer is called a freebird! bloody expensive those things!) Boxer 4 cyl. 80 horse.. After restore.. sold it and got me a... (after selling a nice 280zx t-bar.) Almost new Pan-European (1300cc) that went very well but after a few years i wanted the big boy... A as new Gold Wing a 1832cc 6 cylinder boxer engine with 170Nm (eh about 120 footinches qsquaremeter thingy's? what you guys use hahaha..) lots of torq anyway.. And with central locking on remote, cruisecontrol... i'm not kidding you.. and 4 speaker stereo haha... and and...pfff...

New project
Must be very fine glass beads then.. i have done glass beads wet.. aluminium comes out a bit coarse.. I did some rims last summer with my pressurewasher with special tool for sandblasting with water, it works with around 40-50 bar (600-750 psi) and after i did them i leave my driveway to dry and can clean up very easy.. (lay a pond patch (rubber) on the driveway.) on the left a example, right 2 ready for paint.. I used a very fine sand, over here it's called "zilverzand" transl. it would be silversand.. a very fine silverish sand.. Costs? some of my time.. 😉

New project
Looks very good! What kind of media did they use besides water? It looks very clean! I once restored a Honda Goldwing 1100 with all the bells and whistles.. but i could not drive the damn "to small for me" bike.. I now have the big Goldwing 1800/6Cyl... barely fit on that big bike with my 6foot5.. haha...

Need help choosing a blue (:
Totally agree, but if you google them (those 300zx's) you'll see a lot of them in varius "colors" of .Sapphire Blue Pearl TK3 on the different pictures taken all in different situations. I get a good pallet when you put on google: Nissan 300zx TK3 (go to pictures.) I think this one is a good presentation..

electrical harnesses
I had to put that into the translator.. haha and then see Zed head's post hahaha..😂 Yup Clarification.. On topic: i've seen that there are labels on those harnesses with the part number.. don't know if this is on all years but the later 1979 zx has them.

Where to find a Datsun 280ZX?
😂 Yeah right.. I have never seen one without it... If you can go for a early modell with the stainless in the front of the bumpers.. they still have the looks of the s30 240/260/280z's ... I restored a euro version without those nasty looking bumpers, it costs about 30-35 grand.. it's not a cheap hobby IF done right!

Weird Residue Inside coolant Passages
Don't think so.. just take it "to the cleaners" and you could test it for cracks but thats your desision.. these blocks are resiliant they can take a punch.. don't worry to much! Let us know the result after cleaning.. bet it's a nice block.

Z's on BAT and other places collection
