  1. So 23 of may… 2019! i had to take my car unfinished home... What an A...hole... After 4 years my painter did'nt keep his word.. I'm to sick to tell the whole story but i miss my windshield that cost me a lot.. and payd for paint i never saw.. Year ago i brought him a super clean as new dash, i got it back covered in plaster dust (it layed in his house wich he was rebuilding..) a mesh... Cobwebs and all.. also a pic of cleaned seats.. not bad for forty year old ones hey!!
  2. Funny is the parts box with all kind of Datsun stuff under the knob (also a few non Datsun parts..)
  3. In 2007 i took an old wheel and pulled the fake wood (resin and wood powder mix) off and made myself a fat mahogany wooden wheel! It was 38 hours of work.. 8 layers of blank laquer.. and lots of sanding was involved.. came out nice.. (metall in semi gloss black) There is a ring of 6.5 mm in the wheel.. I made 6 parts on the front hollow and 6 massiv parts at the back, glued the front parts with 2-comp. glue to the metall and the wooden parts with prof. wood glue (water resistant) together.. With a matching gearknob, made on a wood lathe. joke from myself.. the 10 means 10 years of work on my Z ?
  4. Ofcourse… a car like that for 4k.. where can i order 20 of those? Could it be a scam? it stinks to heaven if you ask me!! eh 20? make it 100!
  5. Don't forget the F byhind the 350 (Not Celsius.. i guess..) ?
  6. Could be your hazard switch. in the rest-stand it has to make contact to connect the power through to the lights for the brakesignal.. these (USA) switches have 6-9 contacts? Euro has only 3! ? You can sheck this signal way on a 240z elec.diagram
  7. I was told that this (see 2 pic's) was a middle part of an 240z Original exhaust! Is it or what else is it??.. the number on the mid damper is 20050-N3000 (Could it be from/for a 260z?) I've got this part reserved for someone and just want to no what i'm selling here!!! The number tells it's a later number for the E4150??
  8. Yeah your missing the fact that such a car is a bargain .. over here a rustbucket with warn out mechanic's is 15000 euro... WAKE UP U.S.A. !!!! The fact that these cars were mostly sold in de States let you think it's a cheap item... (Most have rusted away and everyone wants one..) These cars were 3-4 times more expensive overhere (Europe) than a Ford Taunus (yeah that's what they are called overhere with a 1300 or 1600cc v4 engine.. (overhere midclass) ) offcourse we got the 5 speed standard in a 240z but still .. Little boy's who walk aside of mom and say: Mom look!! What a nice car!! And also i've seen cyclists looking over their shoulder and run into a street light pole! i was LMFAO.... !!!
  9. Residual pressure valve.. here's one from Jeep... ?
  10. Map Location:Norway Sorry just asking myself.. Your in Norway and have 2 240z's in Nevada? (If the floors are good i think it's a no brainer.. i want them… but shipping would be to expensive..)
  11. I have made a new wheel in my 240z. took an old one. Took the old fake wood of and made new mahogany around it.. took me 38 hours work incl. 8! layers of paint.. I'm shure when you sanded the old wheel and put blank paint on it (6-10 layers of boat lacquer) it will be brighter, like in the brochures. Lot's af polishing also needed..
  12. Mr Roomba? that sucks… ? sorry ...
  13. Let them know! Mc.Laren sucks!!! (although i would like such a nice car in my frontgarden, just as an garden object!)
  14. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/645045/1973-datsun-240z/ Try this one.. giant story about lowering the roof.. (only problem, i got a message that this site was not accesable due to european regulations protection of data )
  15. After my first reply.. i red your : "no damage" hihi.. so funny… (the first thing i saw where the dents haha... makes them also out of balance..) But still a bargain!!
  16. I thought Original they are a sort of light yellow? or was mine just discolored?? ? Also.. before i would have powdercoated it i would have corrected those dents in the left and upper right blade… and they go for over 100 euro over here!! :-0
  17. Test if there's voltage of about 12v on the motor. You probebly need some new brushes in your motor... a possibility..... after 47 years? ?
  18. Maybe, some adjusting is in the height of the door by loosening the stainless edge.. Nice write up Grannyknot! When alining you can also use a piece of paper to check air tightness (on trunk important related to exhaustgases coming in to the car!)
  19. Maybe you had it (the car) on a 2 post lift without the doors in it? (People don't laugh) (read other questions..haha to know what the *** i'm talking about) There can be some tension in the doors, it's a lot of trail and error to fit the doors back in, Don't over tighten the bolts, at first tighten them just enough.. they could set themselves in a sertain direction.. It cán take easely an hour (or a few...) to do a door correct.
  20. Nice lift, but i will Always use a 4 post lift for my z cars.. esspecially 280zx and 300zx.. they are so heavy that they bend a little on a 2 post lift.. you can't open a door on a z32 when it's on a 2 post lift.. yeah.. opening is possible but try to shut it... And.. should i say it... oh well... ofcourse you did what loads of mechanics do.. you put the 240z on that lift in the wrong way.. it should be lifted on the 4 jack-stand points.. not under the floor.. (for as far i can see, your's is not lifted on the jack-stand places.. (see manual..) sorry.. (with the last MOT of my z32 the mechanic almost did this to my z32, (Lift the body front by lifting it on the thin sheetmetal floor!..) That's why i'm Always with my car at a check.. I freakt out and told the chop owner that i did not want that mechanic (idiot) near my cars! )
  21. I restored a 240z wheel with new mahogany, when you take away the (in this case) foam.. there will be a 1/4 inch (6,35mm) thick steel ring in it.. (i made out of 12 pcs wood a brand new steeringwheel that i'm using now for over 10 years. it has 8 coats of laquer (how the hell do i whrite that.. hahaha)) Still looks like new and one of my proud accomplices (huh?? ) yeah that! haha.. (NO don't want to start up a translating prog. ? )
  22. Haha.. yeah! like they do with engines in boats/ships!
