In the Netherlands this car with auto gearbox costed Fl.177.300 Guilders.. in today's money.. round 80000 euro! pfff...i was told the taxes then were 50000 guilders!!! PFFF..... Shiney b style parts. As new handles gearbox stick. with new bushings from Japan! The windscreen lower edge. restored. dash. dash (and part of my size 12! haha) Dash Restored parts restored parts. passified. Dito Headlights.. not this one.. i found 2 brand new H4 ones on my attic last week!! rear lights. type 1 .. 280zx onother pic.of the b style parts restored under hood light. doorlock restored. these covers come on the car Every nut and bolt in about a 100-150 boxes. lock tailgate New and old grill. type1 280zx Clutch master cilinder 4 restored wheels .. Shiny plate between engine and gearbox New and old waterpump. Ah... the old one, for reserve.. new one is already in the car.. New parts Valve clearance was after 119000km stil less than 0,05mm off on 10 of 12 valves! 2 i could not set them better! This engine is just driven in! CAN ENYONE TELL ME WHAT THAT RED LINE ON THE CAM MEANS ??? Brake Mastercilinder. Still very nice , very hard to come by covers. ivé had high offers for these... Wheelnuts the right one is for 280zx wheels. Other stuff i have in store... These i have new! for 240z L24. see also next pic. Ive got 6 Brand NEW pistons orig NISSAN !! 5 times the left one 1 time the right... it has a different oilring! Does sombody know if that would make a difference when tthey come all 6 in the same engine? as said, these are (not oversize?) original pistons 240z! (hihi make offer?)

Thanks Bart, we will see.. Painter says june... I say September HAHAHA... Ready next year... i don't mind. In the serv.man. of the 280zx there is no rubber round the hinge like the 240z has! I would like a rubber that leaves moisture outside the roofline. Rep, thanks for the picture! Site, those are for a 240z not a 280zx.. don't think they will fit.. but anyway, thanks for your contribution.

Hello All, Mart here,I bought a Datsun 280zx slick roof 2+2.. in or around september 2013.. It's a funny story, Always looking for a Datsun z or zx one day Bart (Yes, from bartscooterservice also here on the forum) told me there was a 280zx for sale in a town near his. These days i'm not working anymore because of a accident at work and a later flattening a motorbike against a tree.... But after Bart told me there was a 280zx i wondered if it was still that one i remembered from the '90's when i was at that Nissan sub-dealer for his burglar alarm inspections, i was a service engineer at that time.. It was a blue car put away in 1993-94, in a storage in the back of the garage! In 2013 the owner stil recognized me and confirmed me that it was stil the same car! It has 119000 Km on the clock and was not driven since 1994, The engine was started every year and that saved it.. After i saw in how good condition it was, (compared to a lot of terribly rusty rustbuckets) i bought the car! I went to pick up the car in January 2014 and did all the mechanical work in 2014 and 2015. Now the car is stil at my Painter who did/does al the welding also for me. At first he told me the car wil be ready in may but now he says June... Don't matter to me, only thing i care for that it is done the right way! Now i'm prepairing al the parts to put back on the car.. (Made hundreds of pictures..) I got a question: A Datsun 240z has a rubber part around his tailgate hinge, i found no rubber near those of the 280zx? Is there no rubber cover seal ? When the hinge is taken out there is a big hole in the roof edge, when cleaning i can imagine that there can get a lot of water into the roof causing a lot of trouble? If there is no rubber for the hinge, i think a peace of inner tubing of a bike can close it, putting it in between.. Like to here your solution! Pic.1 before restoring Pic. Pic.2 ready for paint. NOTICE: the stil perfect "welds" under the rear lights.. in europe these are always rusted away, here...stil perfect.. also the bottom of the car NO welding needed! Awesome!! Interesting question.. I've got a new set... last set.. 90's copy's in good condition. When i sell my 240z they are for sale.. But... Where is Plano? United States?

Your mirror has on it: IKI 8006 I got one and the same only a silver arm .. not black. Mine says also made in Japan and IKI 8012 .. also from a 260Z i think? euro version..

Not so fast.. I'm restoring a 280zx and still have a early 240z... it needs new skins or doors.. but i'm getting a bit tired... so.. maybe you can convince me to sell..

In any case it's from the right Brand! Have fun with it.. don't park it with to much speed against a tree (Like i ones did...pfff...) I drove a fireblade ones and had to rebuild it three times.. luckily all at low speeds, ones i braked so hard it wend over the top. i walked away from it.. but a lot of damage to the bike.. these days i drive a mobile sofa.. also known as a GoldWing HAHAHA..... with his 400+ kg ,1832cc, 6 cilinder, 170Nm of torque it's a nice bike to cruise..

Your in LA? Seems to me like bringing water to the sea.. these skins are very hard to come by in the Netherlands.. In the states you can't find a skin? I'm not in a hurry to sell but these are new ones .. over 200 euro /piece..? i don't know. not investigated yet..

Aha, now i know why that's the case... Your USA. cars have brake lights on the rear blinker lights.. Euro version does not have that, it is a much simpler circuit. All blinkerlights are the same signal for left or right.. front and rear are all same signal also fender blinker on front

Never had that problem but as an electronic engineer i can't believe the problem was the switch when the front blinker worked... Also..is solder not much to soft for a contact? (It will breakdown in month's unless you use a relais..) Better use copper at least. And a layer of silver.. Did you know that silver oxide has a better conductivity than silver itself? So.. if one sees that black layer on contacts.. LEAVE it there!!

Parts availability like at Mercedes... even all upholstery they have for any (!) Merc.. As long it is black! :-) Don't ask for the price but every part is available!

Saw a little dent on front bumper but otherwise very nice car.. here in europe it would be a 15-20000 euro car if it drives like new.. or newish... ;-) In the states... i would like to know at what prize this go's... eh pri C e... haha.... That dent i saw on someone elses pictures... I'm restoring a 280zx with only 119000km! (74000 miles!) from a sub dealer, and yes from the first owner! It drove 119000 km between 1979 and 1994 then a sub nissandealer bought it back and.... put in the back of a storageroom for carparts! As a service-engineer ive seen the car there in the 1990's (HAHAHA..) several times. Until Bart from bartscooterservice pointed me at it.. (He's also on this forum) I knew the dealer from back then having a 280... fun!!... i went and bought that car on the spot! (in 2013!) now this summer it wil drive again.. (According to my painter...)

Wanted to say something about safety belts.. I drive my 240z with race harness over 15 years now. We have APK as England has MOT and Germany TUV. They never asked about it.. I have the original belts also installed on the same bolts, sitting behind the seat.. never had to demonstrate them, the technician that does my cars APK has never seen those original belts! My 4 way Harness are from OMP.

Hi, Don't know were you are from but go for a 280zx, lots of cars and even more parts for low prices.. in de States.. Here in Europe those are rising ! 240z and other s30 parts are getting very expensive. If you want to drive the car buy a 280zx and if your looking for an investment buy an early 240Z .... I am restoring a 280zx 2+2, just because the 240z i'm driving for 17 years (!) now is becoming to interesting for people that want to take it.... for free.... Let us know what you are going for. I think its a electric problem.. a contact failing in your ignition.. because you say it ran perfect after a fail for some time.. check your wiring. fwiw Mart

Hello All, I'm wondering if i can find the first (or one of the first owners) of my Datsun 240Z from 1971 with chassisNR: HLS30 26074! It came to the Netherlands in 1994 after it was sold a few times! ( it was a car with a bad floor...) I have a certificate of title, state of Florida, registered owner is: Kavanagh Joseph J. in Margate Fl. Owner till dec.28 1990. Some other owners for a véry short time were.. Kevin s Weeks Lisa a Toma Patrick Castagna.. This was in august till sept 1994. I have the adress from Kavanagh J.J. Just wanting to let them know the Z is still roaring! in the Netherlands! (With a all new bottom that is!! ;-)... )

Nice pictures of the stay's.. surprisingly 2 different numbers.. all the measurments are on the picture..? No.. the holes are not in the middle of the 40 mm.. thats why there are 2 different stays! but very nice done these pics!

Hahaha... yeah, last week there was a message on the radio in the Netherlands that gas was now cheaper... 1,70 euro per LITER!
