  2. Hello hmsport, In your picture of your air cleaner cover, what's that extra round intake on the bottom of the cover? I see the oval intake for the carb air, and I see the usual summer/winter flap air intake, but it looks like there is an extra hole under the air filter. Koreavet
  3. Hello, I'm the second owner of an early (11/69) 240Z. The car came with a rearview mirror that is a little different from other 240Z mirrors I've seen. This mirror has a red dot on one edge of the day/night twist and nothing on the other edge. The broad sides of the twist have plain, vertical ridges. The other 240Z mirrors I've seen have a picture of a sun on one broad side and a star on the other side. I've attached a picture of my mirror. Is this a correct early 240Z mirror? Thanks. Koreavet

  5. Thanks guys, so the keys must be correct for early z-cars. At $80.00+ the serious concours guys must be really interested. Although I must admit I've never seen these pair for sale before. Koreavet
  6. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=40016&item=2420195918 I thought all 240Z's had the one double teeth keys for all the locks and ignition. Are these the right keys? Anyone know for sure? Thanks. Koreavet
  7. What's the deal with these rear bumper end caps? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6769&item=2418431331 Were all 240Z's supplied with these as they came out of the factory?... Just the early cars? I've seen an old picture of an early car with these. Were they an option?

I have an early 240Z (VIN around 7,000 or so) that has an E88 head. Does anyone know when Nissan made the change over from the E31 to the E88? Thanks. Koreavet

I think the '71 model year came with two different styles of hubcaps. Is your car a series I or series II car? Did you buy the "D" hubcaps or the "Z" hubcaps? I'm sure the hubcap color should match the outside taillight panel. Someone found a very close match with a common paint brand found in most auto parts stores but I forgot the color number. Does anyone remember it? I found that the paint gave a gloss finish when the original was more of a satin or flat. Koreavet

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2412637643&category=34209 I thought the original 240Z came with Toyo tires. I have a buddy with a 240Z and he said he had original tires but they were Toyos 185r14. Does anyone know if this ad is accurate? Thanks. Koreavet

The factory sprayed only the outside top of the ashtray black. The insides and underneath were the dark grey color of the bare plastic. My car is a 11/69 build date. Koreavet

Thank you guys for your great replies. 2ManyZs said that he thought the carpet should be replaced. If the car has low mileage then the carpet is probably in good shape except maybe faded. Couldn't you just dye it then? Does someone make carpet dye? A few of you guys mentioned documentation for the low miles. I wrote the owner and he says he did a lot of the work like oil changes and stuff himself. So there is some but not a lot of documentation. He says that there are a lot of things on a car that you could tell if it had 42,000 miles or 142,000. He says that on this car everything is keeping with a car that has 42,000 miles. Does this sound fishy?

Hello, I'm new to z car world. I have always wanted to own a z car but one thing or another always came up. Now that I am retired I finally got the go ahead from the missus to look. I saw this nice looking one on Ebay and just wanted some opinions on it. What do you guys think? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2407765831&category=6187
