FS: 280Z Fresh Air Duct Set
The inner fender intake opening is indeed still there, there is just no where for the hose to go to, as the FI intake goes through the round opening in the radiator support. The only way a 280Z could use this system is if there was no FI system on it... IMHO Notice the opening in the inner fender.

Maybe get the mods to rename this thread for the appropriate model car now.... @Mike

Still confused. I am not sure where the air enters the inner fender. There is an opening where a vent tube would go inside the engine bay, but the intake hole is used by the cold air intake for the FI system.

Datsun 240Z 1972 Restomod from Germany
I think the stock rails were the same strength for all the S30's. The ones from Zedd Findings were a little more robust. I will not be pushing my car harder than stock power for a while, so I may not need extra reinforcement...yet.

The replacement rails I bought from Zedd Findings have a reinforcement plates too.

The inside of the stock frame rail has a support bracket as an integral support already. You can see the spot welds in your photos. I had metal support shims attached to the outside frame rails on the stock bar too. I would think that a shim would work just as well, but no doubt yours will be very solid!

1976 280Z Restoration Project
The truth is, the DTM epoxy coat went on a little thick and left a fairly rough texture. I have to smooth it all out before I respray the DTM as a seal coat. I want that to go on nice and smooth so the base coat and clear look purty! I still have some more fill work on the other side of the passenger frame rail, but nothing serious. I might do some minor pinholes with glaze to fill in the fibreglas. Way too OCD on this part of the car, I know....

My car came with neither. Zkars provided me a right hand unit. I thought there was no allocation for a 280Z with FI for the left side? Any pics of one installed in a 280?

I'm not sure about Germany, but in Canada, harnesses are not street legal. You still need the factory belt for street driving. Just a thought.
