  1. A little more work in the shop tonight. Got more of the frame rail metal work done. And some new metal mapped out for replacement.
  2. Luckily my block is out of the car and the pan will be easy access... Interested to see how your gasket works. As for paint colour, I am tempted to chrome powder coat mine, just to keep an eye out for leaks
  3. I had forgotten about these guys...
  4. Pallnet is working on mine as we speak...!
  5. Yes. I have heard of the loss of pressure in the line in the cheap ones.
  6. Looking forward to this fuel rail arriving. Web pic for example. Mine will have a fuel pressure regulator on the firewall and be bolted to my somewhat finished intake pictured here. And will have my nicely refurbed Cressida 11mm injectors on it!
  7. Thanks Chas, in no small part thanks to you and all your engineering and development! PS: when's my bolt in engine management computer going to be ready?
  8. Very very nice.... would work great with my P90 head! Tempting, even though I have two complete blocks in my garage already, it hurts to pass this up! GLWS!!
  9. So I had to go out to the shop again anyways so I got a couple pics . My main garage is a disaster too...! I need a month off to sort out all my messes...
  10. I will get some good shots of the rail, injectors, and intake. Meanwhile tonight I made good progress with the driver side frame rail. Got the stubborn tip out and fitted the rail in the old position. Forgot to take my phone /camera into the shop with me so no pictures tonight. I will try and get some soon. Tomorrow night is the Annual General Meeting of the Z Car Club so I won't be in the shop. Thanks to everyone for all the encouragement and advice. This forum and its members are an absolute blessing to us old Z restorers!
  11. Treated myself to a special order part tonight! Ordered a Pallnet 11mm fuel rail to go with my polished intake! I have been coveting that fuel rail for a while...
  12. True, plus the ZeddFindings rail is heavier and rust free! I will post more of the install as I go. The front of the old frame rail is still embedded in the lower rad support. Don't really want to remove the rad support if I don't have too....
  13. New metal where needed for sure. Can never be too strong
  14. Son in law did the finish welds on the reinforcement plates. I did more spot weld removal on the frame rails...
  15. With the 280, all the rads are within the same height as a stock 280 rad. Nothing should go lower or higher if I go with a 240 style rad. Right?
  16. Great info and thanks for the pics!
  17. I have been chatting with Charlie from ZeddFindings. He has not had anyone else mention the 280Z frame rails being different than the 240Z before... strange! However, he also mentioned that he was considering manufacturing and selling the reinforcement plates like I made along with the frame rails. He hasn't had any requests for them though. What do you people think? Would you be interested in a prefabbed set of replacement reinforcement plates from Charlie? Let him know!
  18. this one might work...
  19. I agree. Small issue in the scheme of things I guess.
  20. Charles, do you think I could install a 240 rad instead? There is a lot of weld work already done to the front of these rails...
  21. Crap. The 280 rad is too wide for the new frame rails. I wonder if an aluminum 240 or 280 rad is narrower? I was going to go aluminum anyways.. 25" between frame rails in the centre, 26.25 at the rad support.
  22. Hmmmm Just noticed the front frame rails are not the same as factory... The factory rails bow away from the rad near the support... hope this is not going to be an issue...
