Some more custom work as I near the end... My rear ABS panels were looking rough. Both had the top sections broken off. One had speaker holes drilled through in front of the power antenna. I couldn’t find reasonable priced replacements so I did the next typical me thing. I repaired them. Using acetone and cut up bits of ABS from donor plastic, I dissolved the scrap into a paint lid and used it as an adhesive/bondo to repair the panels. I also used fibreglas mat as a reinforcer for the long seams. After repairs were made, I sanded the joints and sprayed a texture spray over the repaired panels. The results are good. I lost the original texture but that is minor compared to the condition they were in. What do you think? Chemicals and paint... This pic shows the holes after filling and backing with fibreglas. I didn’t get a pic of the panel before the repair. And after sanding it all down for texture ... And after texture...

I have that powder but the tray has molded plastic slides that can’t stand the heat. I sprayed them with duplicolor chrome.

Also got the ashtray and console tray painted a nice chrome!

Well the dragon had been slayed... almost. Dash is in with the Haltech, power steering, ignition system and RFID wired. Left to do is the power door locks and windows and the console wiring which will be done together as that’s where the new switches will be located.
  5. Half shaft oriented the wrong way...

A lot of kneeling on the garage floor and contorting my body into positions I will need physio to recover from, and the electric power steering and push button ignition are wired in. Still have some work to do on the Haltech relay box and the Vintage Air system connections. No power leads connected yet as the engine bay harness is not completed yet. I need more loom tape to arrive...
  7. You’re probably the first to open the half shafts...
  8. No need to wash it if you’re media blasting. It’s all coming off...
  9. I placed the grease along the channel of each groove on the first smaller amount. Then I placed the larger amount directly below the retaining washer and circlip at the end of the grooves. Not in the boot area.
  10. That sounds like a lot of grease. I used metric amounts as per the fsm. SASSZ says hi...!

I think very little scares you... SASSZ says hi...!
  12. No. Not of the grease. If you follow The fsm, it is not a lot of grease... SASSZ says hi...!
  13. They are stock as far as I know. SASSZ says hi...!
  14. Or go with one of these for the win! SASSZ says hi...!
  15. I have stock injectors on my spare blocks. You are welcome to them. They ran well for the couple of times I idled the engine before teardown. SASSZ says hi...!
  16. Get a Pallnet rail! Then you can swap out to 11mm or 14mm injectors with similar flow rates and resistance. I am running supra 310cc injectors in a Pallnet 11mm rail. SASSZ says hi...!

Well the dash is in. Not fully connected yet, but in. Installing the dash with all the connections is tricky, especially with the new hoses for the Vintage Air. Very tight and all in all it took me about three hours by myself. About 50 install/removals included...
  18. There was about 4” of slide in each shaft when assembled. They move slowly and with some pressure when properly greased after assembly. SASSZ says hi...!

Many thanks to Cap’n Bruce for his support and guidance through some interesting troubles with the wiring. Some of it my fault, some of it factory! Check this harness photo out!...

Well, I am making good progress on the wiring of the harnesses and the installation of the new components like the PWM lighting controller for the led dash lights, the push button ignition and RFID remotes, power steering system and the Vintage Air climate control system. Looks like pandemonium I know...
  21. Looking great! SASSZ says hi...!

My 370Z sounds like a rock concert on the best of days.... not much has changed! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. You will need to shorten your mount for the 12si. My thread has a lot info on this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
