Sad but true. Hence the myriad of pictures. I’m hoping to get a good photo shoot at the end of the restoration. From all angles.

Some aggressive camber but ride height and final alignment and suspension settings will wait till the car is complete. The ride height will need to come up a bit for sure.

Well today is a milestone. The car is finally sitting on all four wheels with brakes attached and parking brake working! Some final shots after I filled the diff and greased the U joints.

The TTT lower control arms are awesome. They allowed me to adjust the toe, camber and track width of the rear wheels. When I first mounted the wheels, they seemed to sit too far forward in the wells. I moved the spacers to the front of the arms, and the wheels moved back into the centre of the wells. In order to tuck the wheels in under the fenders, I widened the track setting and pushed the wheels out at the bottom. This also created the right amount of camber I needed. Front and rear adjustments also provide all the toe adjustments you need. Very impressed.
  11. Got the parking brakes adjusted. The Silvermine cable is a little longer than stock so I had to adjust the linkage a bit. Connected the rear brake lines and bolted the calipers down. Adjusted the rear camber settings on the top of the CX Racing coil overs to let the big meaty 225/60R16 tire’s get under the wells. Still needs a little adjusting but the Techno Toy Tuning rear lower control arms are phenomenal for adjustments! Next up is the front brake lines and some small adjustments there before I drop the car on the ground. I’ll probably fill the diff while it’s still in the air too.

    Let’s talk...
  13. Nice car and great originality. I would treat this one as a rare original sample and modify as little as possible.

True enough. I have done dozens of stud replacements over the years and it’s a routine. Torque drive retorque drive retourque. Rinse and repeat. The key to this stud replacement was getting a slightly larger knurl to bite into the hubs better. 12.7mm stock and I ordered the 12.8~12.9mm knurl studs.

Could of sworn I read that in Captain Obvious's voice...
  16. My ‘76 rack disassembled: And reassembled:
  17. Reminds me of the half-shafts and people thinking there were two different sizes. It's just the grease all caked up around the normal travel zones causing it to bind.

I believe the Irish invented a beverage or two to calm the passenger. Perhaps that is the solution!

Well finally! The RT Trackpro 60mm M12x1.25 12.8mm knurled studs have arrived. They must be manufacturing these as they have their stamp on the heads. No one else seems to have custom lengths and knurl sizes like these guys.

The bumpers were painted red by the previous owner. They were stripped, and powder coated in Eastwood Extreme Chrome. It's so easy to do... I legitimately prefer powder over paint. If the item can withstand the heat, it gets powdered!
