1976 280Z Restoration Project
Hmmm. I had turn signals and flashers working before. All the wiring is good. Good grounds. Indicator lights in dash come on solid but don’t blink. I swapped all the bulbs to leds and added electronic flasher units but now the flashing has stopped working from either the turn signals or the emergency switch. Any brilliant thoughts I should look into first?

Finally received my digital to analogue tachometer converter. The Haltech sends a digital signal that needs to be converted into the old school coil signal for the tach to work properly. Pretty simple solution using one of these converters made by Gene. He’s on eBay and sells cool little gadgets like this for a reasonable price. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/142171581596

Follow the angle of the replacement floor pan up the trans tunnel wall. Then you can make custom seat mounts for the driver side and fit any seat.

My floors were much worse than yours. I would not even replace those!

Mounting the seats on the rails is not the issue, it’s the side bolster clearance to the trans tunnel that won’t let the seats mount. I tried installing 370Z seats and the passenger side was awesome fitting but no go on the driver side without cutting out the hump I spent weeks building...

IMPORTANT! You will need to remove the catalytic converter hump on the driver side floor pan in order to fit these seats. I left mine in and spent wayyyy too much time building that hump back into the floor only to realize I could no longer fit aftermarket seats in the drivers side.... Charlie’s floor pan does not have the hump built in for the catalytic converter.

Very cool restoration of a sister car to mine! Love the attention to detail, and the custom touches. Yours started off in better condition than mine though! I have the OneSix CAS as well in my 3.1 L stroker. Let me know if you have any questions, even thoughtTim Heilbloom at OneSix is awesome with tech support.

1976 280Z Restoration Project
Well, the Xmas break has been productive, but in ways other than benefitting the 280... I started the makeover of the front garage this fall and had all the front doors replaced and all of the doors lifted to their highest point of 12 feet. This puts them inches from the ceiling. Of course that meant that all the old scaffolding and supports had to be removed and all the holes filled etc. I started filling and painting around 8 Dec, and have just finished as of today getting all the ceiling and walls painted. The hard part was that the Z was still in the garage and there is a lot of snow and cold weather outside preventing me from emptying the garage properly. So there was a lot of shuffling around. I also added LED slow profile shop lights which have the energy of 1000 angry suns.... That plus the bluetooth lights from the LiftMaster 8500W shaft drives creates an ambiance somewhat akin to the inside of a nuclear reactor... As it was with the low rise doors and hangers everywhere... And now the high lift... And now after ceiling and wall paint complete... I added a cool feature too. The walls are very close to the cars parked inside due to the single doors. I installed a length of Dock Bumper to act as a door ding guard on the wall next to the wife's car. Works great! I also built a custom remote panel for the openers to hide the wiring and to mount the thermostat for the heated floors. Now I have to save my pennies a few months to be able to afford the Poly Aspartic floor coating that is next. I have already ordered some custom cabinets for the entry way and a ton of storage cabinets for the rest of the garage to hide all the clutter. This will look awesome when I'm done and (hopefully) have a four post lift installed in the middle section for the Z's!
