Yup. From someone with a garage queen of 4 years plus.... drive it while you can. Restore it later when you have time.

Too dissimilar to be straight swap for parts. Door cards, interior mounts, bumpers probably, etc etc.

I think I would try and replace those bolt, nut and lockwasher fasteners to a rivnut in the splitter. And some shorter bolts...

I went through this just recently too.... the energy suspension parts will fix it!

If only someone made cards for the 75-76 280’s....

Build it properly and with solid parts and you shouldn’t have a problem registering it later. Lots of people register resto mods all the time. If it’s not safe now or later, it won’t pass. Make it safe.

Do you have a link to the calculator you used? The gear ratios in the first calc for the 3.90 are a little off for 3rd and 5th. Should be 1.308 and .745
