No progress for quite a while. I have been deployed for most of the spring and then went on a vacation with the wife. Still in Europe but I will be home by the weekend. Hoping to get back in to the shop soon!
  2. I had the ultimate product and it sticks like crazy glue. Never coming loose!
  3. Actually they do have Canadian pricing... it’s a little checkbox in the top right of the screen if I remember to change the currency. Or call them...
  4. Check out my thread for info on the sound dampening material from Lethbridge Alberta. Very reasonable and excellent quality product. B-Quiet Sound Deadening https://www.b-quiet.com

That seems like a very good buy...

    Definitely a separate spray...

Car is worth half of what he is asking at best....

I don't disagree totally, however, I find that the 280Z 's will be much harder to find in the coming years. Any attempts to save ANY of the S30's should be considered at this point....

The riveted patch panels in the frame rails scare me....
  10. Unfortunately, the door plate is the most valuable part of that car....

OMG.... that is bad... the front frame rails are done along with that front cross member.... Get new parts/metal in there soon. Start reading here:
  12. I have several low end guns and one medium gun, plus one high end'ish gun. The low end guns do good work for primer and epoxy, the medium gun does flow better and create a nicer "football" shape. The higher end gun I use for the spraying of the colour coat and clear coat. It has a better atomizer tip that sprays a finer swirl of air and paint, resulting in fewer drips or runs. I paid $400 Cdn for the higher end gun and also use the 3M PPS system with collapsing cups for paint. I also use water based paints for the colour coat.
  13. In for more info... I need the same parts eventually.
  14. I drove a friends 240 for 10 minutes a year ago on a cruise, that is the extent of my experience with the S30 as well!
  15. Great work as usual Jeff! Looking forward to seeing this car done. I wish I could spend the time on mine as well, but spring summer and fall are usually pretty busy for me (military training, summer vacation etc). Winter is my season for production! Luckily (?) for me, we have nine months of winter here....

On a side note, I picked up some new rubber for the 370Z....
  18. Where there's a will, there's a way....
  19. These are local to me and I have seen them. They are in good condition from a 280Z https://www.kijiji.ca/v-other-auto-parts-and-accessories/edmonton/datsun-z-seats/1352064383?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

Yaaaaa.... actually nothing like civilian work. That’s a hot, 8 ton engine pack sitting on the ground 20 minutes after rolling in to my maintenance biv. 2 ton rear deck lifted, moved over and dropped to the ground by the 80 ton Armoured Recovery Vehicle, then the hot 1500HP diesel pack being completely disconnected and unbolted from the chassis and lifted out by the pack sling onto the ground... the guys are there to swab the hull while we repair the pack and replace it in the hull again as fast as possible. It’s like Indy pit racing without the fun...

Me and the boys doing an engine pull...
  22. Ooooo, if you're still local to the cars, I still need the carpet holders in the footwells. Three bolts each in a strip of metal or plastic hold the carpets down in the footwells. The 75's are most likely best matches.... if you can!

Still need to find a dead pedal cover...

I got back from field training for the weekend and only have another day before I am back out in the mud and fields of Wainwright. Just enough time to change a noisy wheel bearing on my rear driver side in the 370Z and install the new rubber brake and clutch pedal covers on the 280Z! I drove the 370Z a little on Monday but the Ventus V12’s are showing the steel bands... 27,000 kms and worn out already! Oh well, better than the Dunlop’s that only got 17,000 kms. 305 30R19’s aren’t cheap. Back to work!
