  2. Thanks for all the advice. It's greatly appreciated. I'll have to give this a good as soon as I have some time to spare. Things are pretty crazy with uni atm.
  3. Captured by the mexicans...

    Nice.
  5. Hi Rick! I was just wondering what the hell had happened to you since I haven't seen you on here in months. *click* On your trip to visit the mexicans of course. Good to see your still alive.
  6. trs: What seals are in the midwest kit and how much does it cost? Thanks.
  7. Out of interest, what sort of condition are we talking with the two 240s?
  8. When I bought my 260 2+2 parts car the prev owners couldn't find the key for the hatch. Now what I am wondering is how can I open it? If I have to destroy the lock in the process so be it, now good without a key is it. Just had a somewhat obvious idea. Get a locksmith out! :stupid: Any other ideas? Ways I can do it myself?
  9. Hmm... I just need to find myself a real dunger, something rusted to $^!#, then use it's bits to make this 2+2 complete again. Don't think my parents would be too happy bout me having yet another car sitting around here though.
  10. This one has had me really stuck deciding what to do with it. It's pretty much complete and standard with a straight body other than the front left guard. It needs a new coat of paint, has some surface rust and a few patches of cancerous rust, but nothing too bad or in critical areas. If I had the money or time I'd be fixing it up and selling it. However it's worth a lot to me for the bits I need for mine. Heaps of interior parts as well as pretty much the whole driveline. I'm thinking, whatever I do, I'll make sure not to hack up the shell as it's still fairly good.
  11. Howdy, Not too long ago I acquired a 260Z 2+2 parts car, most of which is quite original. I'd put it up in the Aussie section but haven't had too much interest. Now what I was wondering, is what parts are worth a reasonable amount, enough that it's worth selling them to other countries for example. Maybe even chucking them on eBay. Eg, I had a quick look around at the prices of tail lights and it seems they fetch quite a decent amount. I'm not looking to make a killing off it, but I could use the extra $ as I'm a poor uni student. Anything worth while?
  12. When I have a little time to spare I'll pull them off and check their condition internally. If they still seem to be pretty good I might give them a whirl on my car, see if they're any better than the round top hitachis (freshly rekitted and with very little play around the throttle shaft). The filters are also identical looking to mine, which are redline. If these SU's turn out not to work as well as mine then they'll be finding a home on my old motor, in the basher ute.
  13. Looks quite similar from the front......but damn is it ugly!
  14. Brett 240: You have a PM. How do you like the true SU's?
  15. Any idea of the price such a thing would go for?

Edit: Sorry folks. This was supposed to be a PM and I have hit the wrong bloody button. I suck at the internet.
  17. Sweet...sounds good.
  18. Alfadog: 260DET: What sort of time frame do you need them in? It's just that once they are out the car wont be going anywhere....and I still need to be able to move it around for now.I suppose I can always dodgy up a solid bar in there instead(?).
  19. I'm afraid I can't help you there. My zed doesn't have that either, it's all carpeted. Any other bits you need, just let me know.
  20. billramsey2002: PM sent. 240Zdragon72: The guy couldn't find the ignition key for it, but said he'll keep looking. I've just drilled out the bolts so I can still move it around in the mean time. I'll post up if he finds it. gav: The diamond vinyl on the trans tunnel? Yep, still there and appears to be completely intact, although a bit dirty. The whole interior is a complete mess. It's been sitting like this for three years. Most of the interior appears to be ok, other than the vinyl on the front seats being ripped. http://users.bigpond.net.au/oceanz/z/DCP_6947.jpg http://users.bigpond.net.au/oceanz/z/DCP_6948.jpg http://users.bigpond.net.au/oceanz/z/DCP_6949.jpg
  21. Anyone know what these carbs are?
  22. Howdy! I've just become the proud owner of a second rust bucket of the z car variety. This one is the 2+2 that sjcurtis had seen on the RAAF base here. A big thanks to steve for letting me know about it. Anyhow, while it looks like a total dunger, it really isn't all that bad. The interior is a complete mess, but other than a cracked dash and torn seat covering it's actually pretty good. All the switch gear in this thing feels like new. Let me tell you it's quite a difference from mine! Body wise it has some small crash damage to the left door and fender and some rust, but nothing too bad. Anyhow, pretty much everything is for sale other than gearbox (manual) and a few interior bits and pieces. I might keep the motor too unless someone really wants it. Oh it has two sets of carbs too, the original flat tops that were in the boot, and some round tops that were on the motor. They aren't 240Z round tops though! I'll have to pull them off and work out what exactly they are. I'll be selling it a cheap too. PM me if you want anything. http://users.bigpond.net.au/oceanz/z/DCP_6936.jpg

Patto: Have you found the parts you need yet?

I might just have a 260 2+2 for a parts car soon. If the panels are suitable for your 240 I'll be quite willing to sell them to you cheap. No idea what freight from NQ, to the ACT will be like though.
