[2015] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
Thanks S30 Driver and Lumens, I'll talk to the tuners and let them know your thoughts [emoji106][emoji106] I'm not a mechanical guy, as you can probably tell, what problems are likely to be encountered where the pump is located? Thanks

[2015] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
As an aside, can anyone please tell me what this is? Looks like a wire has broken, my old 240Z didn't have one? Thanks in advance 👠Sorry the picture is upside down

[2015] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
Today I went to check on the progress of my Weber Instilation and things are looking good 👠they've fitted an electronic fuel pump, pressure regulator, pipercross filters with back plates and 33mm chokes, all that's left to do now is get her on the rolling road and tune up properly, jets etc I should be able to collect this Thursday afternoon, can't wait :-)

[2015] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
A pair of Hub caps arrived today from New York via eBay in the hope that I could use one of them in place of a well worn Cap that came with my 240, they are in good condition, even though they have some patina, which I don't mind, however they are both much lighter in colour than the ones I have, looks like I'll have to get the colour matched and respray them, no great shakes really as I work for a paint manufacturer, I think the masking up will be awkward though over the chrome. The cap on the left is one of the pair from Ebay. I'll give it a go in the next few weeks :-)

Hardway's 1971 240z #8011 - Build and Repair Thread
Absolutely wonderful pics, love this Z [emoji41][emoji41][emoji41] with regard to the blackened out engine bay i posted the other week as to why so many Z's have them, the consensus was that it's the original colour of the car and the outside colour, color :-) , that had been changed, it put me off calling about quite a few cars to be honest, as I wanted a Z that was 95% finished, once again , wonderful thread [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

[2015] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
I'm no engineer guys so I've just gone with their recommendation, the foam ones on at the minute just slide over the stacks, the Piper Cross ones will, I believe, have a backplate, I'll post some pics when I get it back and try and get a better explaination for us all :-) cheers

The Weber 40's are on, fuel pump, filter and tuning to follow :-)

[2015] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
I had a drive over to the garage that's instaling my Webers and discussed air filters, I bought the ones you see in the pic but was advised the Z could lose 20-30 BHP with those so I'm changing to Piper Cross individual Carb Filters, the car should be ready for tuning/jetting on Friday so should have it home by the middle of next week :-)

[2015] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
Thanks Lumens :-) I've taken the car today to a company who will install the header and Weber 40's and tune the Z, It's the furthest I've driven it since it landed, about 20 miles, a few of things I noticed were that it changes gears very smoothly, the brakes feel 42 yrs old :-) and not many people on the road had seen a 240Z for quite a while if ever, oh and the tick over rose up to 2K! I should be able to collect within 2 weeks .

Hs30-00019
I can't help but smile reading this thread, in a good way, I think what you're going to do with this Z is amazing, keep up the good work and keep us posted, I was in Sydney in Feb this year, Colorory, Dee Why, Manly etc and thought it would suit a Z around there but didn't see one, not surprising really! Keep up the great work

this classified made me smile :-)
I was having my usual look through 240Zforsale.com and came across this ad that really made me smile, one thing I've noticed when I was looking for my car that, in general, not much information is given in your classifieds, well this guy certainly paints a picture!

Alternative Brake Vacuum Hose Source?
I've recently bought one from Ryan at Z car depot for $75 and had it shipped to the UK with some other bits and pieces, I agree that seems quite a few $$$ for a hose but as you say it's suppky and demand, I couldn't get one over here.

Chassis number HS30 - 103276
The 240Z I owned 30 yrs ago had the Chassis number HS30103362 and was registered here in the UK January 1st 1975, I think it was manufactured in 1973 but didn't have any 260Z crossover parts on it.

[2015] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
I ordered a set of Triple Weber DCOE 40's today along with RAM air filters, I'll hopefully have them installed and set up within a couple of weeks of them arriving here ðŸ‘

[2015] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
Originally the first 3 letters would represent the area the car was first registered, then the numbers would be the , in your case, 778 car to be registered and the final letter represents the year of Registration, Back then the registration year went from Augist 1st through to July 31st the following year, strange but true :-) G= Aug 68-July69 H=Aug 69-July70 etc I had a 71 TR6 in Red, YJF 565J ðŸ‘

[2015] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
The UK licensing agency assigned a Registration number to my '72 240Z, DRS 329K, the letter K at the end represents the year of manufacture, the others are totally random registration letters and numbers, however DRS are my initials! Some things are meant to be :-)

Finally got my UK registration number assigned to my 240Z , classic Black and Silver plates as its pre 73

Oil the Clock?
Now this is a really well written post, I was wondering why most of the For Sale ads said ' clock not working', when I bought my 240 the seller put it was in his ad but by the time it arrived here it wasn't :-)
