Farewell, my Z family!
Hi Sara, Just want to thank you for helping me get my Z-Legs when I first started here. That's about 3 1/2 years ago now. My sweet RedBird is wonderful to me. She is staying roadworthy, and a big blessing. Redwing, my old 1971 was sold, and is now down to bare metal, heading for a full restore. I am so happy for her. Anyhow, I do appreciate your kindness and all you did for me. I won't forget you, in fact I hope someday to meet you and your partner. Keep in touch...sending love and blessings.

ZCON 2018 Roll Call
Hi all, Just a note to tell you how much fun I had at ZCON. My son Bill and I were there Friday and Saturday. We got to drive my "RedBird" 280 Z in the parade lap at the track. That was exciting. Then we lined up for the areal photo. My car is number 35, counting from the top left. So cool, she is in posterity forever for the 2018 ZCON. We met some members there, Capt. Obvious, Charles, Zup, Cliff, Mark and his wife Kathy, Greg, and others I can't remember all. I just wish I had been able to be there all week. A great time was had by all. First photo lining up for the parade lap. Second, driving in the lap. Third, aerial photo of Z's, #35 is RedBird. Fourth, Mark Maras and Lissa Sunday ready to go home.

Time 2 Shine Car Show, Dalton, Ga. 6/16/18
Thank you EuroDat. I'm biased too. My first 1971 Z was a Red 240, Redwing. I drove her 259,000 miles. Nothing like driving a red Z. Happy driving...

Time 2 Shine Car Show, Dalton, Ga. 6/16/18
We went to a car show last Saturday, and were awarded a Second in the Stock classification. This makes 5 trophies RedBird has won in 5 shows, I'm very happy we are doing so well. My Service Dog Lissa was with me, and RedBird was so shiney that she reflected the trophy and Lissa too. It was a great time again, altho awfully hot. We were indoors at least, and brought a fan which helped. We are regestered with ZCON, and Best Western for Oct. 19 & 20th. Hope to see many of you there. It will be so great to meet my online friends in person.?

Body shop didn't order bumper ends, 1976 280
Mark, the 1977 has the depression running horizontally across the bumper. The 1976 is smooth with no indent. Looks a lot better in my eyes. Thanks, Jai

Body shop didn't order bumper ends, 1976 280
I only can imagine that RedBird was in a front end accident before I got her. There is evidence of bent areas under the grill. I sent a letter asking about her past hoping to find out history, to the previous owner. But I did not get any reply. So no clue really. Thanks...

I called MSA. I had spoken to him before, and I am on a call back list for the right bumper end. The last of them they got from Japan, was 2 of them, back in 2016. As of now, on that list, there are 17 people ahead of me waiting too. Boy, that's hard odds. Looong time to make it to the top of the list. Jai

Body shop didn't order bumper ends, 1976 280
Thank you for this contact. I have spoken to him and he has a Z coming in about a month. In the meantime I am thinking about getting a set of "Deletes" that site unseen gave me. I've already spoken to the body shop and they will paint them red matching RedBird, and put them on. They will at least go in the depression, and cover the mounting holes for the bumper end. Making RedBird look a lot better. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks all, Jai

Body shop didn't order bumper ends, 1976 280
Thinking about getting my neighbor Michael, the painter at the body shop, to paint them red matching the car. That would probably look better. Think? Lumens sent me a contact that I'm going to reach out to once it is local awake time for him. Maybe he will have the right side bumper end. Let you all know later. Jai

Oh, too being a 1 owner car from Scottsdale helps in her beauty and wear!

Thank you. God had His hand in my getting her, it would never have happened otherwise. Up close there a bunch of little things that need attention. Being a "mature" lady of 75, there are many things I cannot do myself for her. But the members here are wonderful to me. Several have driven here and worked on her, and sent parts to me for her. There were problems when I first got her 3 years ago, but a member sent me an ECU, and poof everything has been great since then. I take her to car shows and we have won 4 trophies! Such fun. Thanks for the heads up about MSA, I will call them. Have a good day... Jai

I just got an email from the guy with the bumper, in Louisville. It is for a 1978 280. Probably no good, what do you think?

Body shop didn't order bumper ends, 1976 280
YES! Exactly. Ok, so now wondering how a black powder coated set would look in the recesses on both sides of the car? Sitting just behind the bumper. Who knows how long if ever can I find the right side rubber bumper end. The empty recesses look awful, so thinking these might just do the trick. The black powder coated ones are in the 2nd url. There is a video showing how they are installed. I think this might work for me. There is a reflection in the bumper photo, nothing but chrome actually. Thanks Cliff. Jai

Body shop didn't order bumper ends, 1976 280
Thanks, I called them too. Anyone, I saw way back before I was having this problem, that some metal pieces were advertised to go on attached to the car instead of these rubber ones. Now I can't locate the source I'd saved. Would anyone have any idea what these are called, or better yet where they can be found? I need something to look decent in those spots. Thanks much, Jai

Body shop didn't order bumper ends, 1976 280
Good news. The body shop has ordered the left side bumper end. But the right side is not available. Nor the rubber finishing strip that goes from side to side on top of the bumper. Front bumper 1976 280 Z. If anyone has information where I can get these 2 parts, please tell me where. I can get the body shop to order them from anywhere. Thanks all, Jai

Alert... just found out. The prices I got for the bumper ends are for THE RUBBER ONLY. The metal will have to be gotten off a donor car. Seriously different in total price for the bumper ends. Jai
