Wheel Stud Pattern Adapters
better to get wheels to suit the datsun stud pattern than muck around with adaptors You do know that mitsubi toyota 4 stud mags fit datsun and later mazda re 82 onwards so you dont have to limit it your self to second hand datsun mags Must sy i had the opposite problem with my rx4 couldnt get any 15" rims cheap to rally so we drilled the back axles to datsun stud pattern and put datsun hubs on the front Thats probaly the best and cheapest way to change stud pattern drill and stud rear stub axles and fit front hubs to datsun hubs from car that suits the wheels but it is a lot of mucking around Mick

Grinding paint off
some scratches are ok but none is a lot better filler will fill them baut you some times end up with it shrinking when you paint it and the cracks just come through again which means more sanding may get away with primer filler using a spray putty gun that works well Mick
-
Grinding paint off
To me the best way to remove paint is first paint stripper chemical then was that off and use 3m clean and strip wheels they fit on to a drill and strip paint off but only polish metal so there great Mick

-
rotary engine
im with everyone else on this one dont believe nissan ever built a rotary zed But one that most people dont know about is that mazda took holden kingswood sedans to japan and fitted rotarys to them and sold them as road pacers Mick
-
rotary engine
dont believe any datsuns ever had rotarys as an option It was a common modification to put a rotary in the 510 datsun but they ended up banning this in rally 's as they where too good Have raced a rx4 mazda with 13b rotary for the last 4 years and i luv the power of the rotary mine has been rebuilt as a j port with 48 mm weber good around 300 hp at the flywheel They really are cheap hp but what i luv is the rx4 bodies are cheap bend anything and you can fix it cheap My zed is a bit to close to heart to race 10/10 while the mazda i dont care about so i can go 10/10 My motor with the j port dosent make much hp below 3500 rpm but the screams to 8800 rpm Cant say id think it was a great idea to put a rotary in a zed though Mick

How do you Poilsh Valve Cover?
polished a lot of alloy and stainless have found the best approach is to clean it then hit it with a polish wheel on drill or bench grinder can be purchased from hardware stores the first one to use is a compact cotton with a polishing compound comes in a block once you start to get a shine then move to a loose cotton polishing wheel comes up great Though i now perfer stainless steel for all new fittings as it holds its polish so much longer Mick

why dont we see gt wings on zs?
hi i think they can look bloody good have seen a pic of a yellow zed from melbourne with zg nose and wing 17" wheels it looks trick I tried putting a gt falcon wing on the backof my zed years ago but it just didnt look right ended up going with the jim cook racing wing cut down 4" to suit my car not having any rear bumper But must say i think i would go with one of the newer wings now Have just got a zg nose looking for another hatch to put a wing on go back to std bonnet dont know if the 15' wheels will look right but worth a try but getting shed sorted out for now so its while away Mick

Dont mess with the colorado hwy patrol....
wrx in std trim are not that scary i mean they are fast but i have beat many of them in speed events with my rx4 and would be happy to give my zed a run against one (i not as keen to try and beat one in the wet even though i have beat them in the wet its just a lot harder than the dry) I say give them a run for there money wrx r quick cars but nothing a well sorted zed couldnt keep up with or beat Mick

AU - Cheap Simmons?
you wont get 8" wheels under the back of a 240z made the standard way by simmons i ordered mine v4 15x7 front and 15x8 back but the backs would not fit had to change them abck to 15x7 later on i changed the rear spring perches ( jag that run style) and got new inners made up to get 15x8 on the back which fitted perfect until the 245 tyres wore out them found out you cant get 245 50 series tyres anymore so changed back to 15x7 have been told 15x8 fit under 260z back Simmons are dear those two inners cost me $550 5 years ago and they are the unpolished side Mick
