come on guys you got barrack for skaife ive followed him from the days when he raced the nissan gtr (godzilla) until they ruled them out (to fast for the v8s) the v8s are a great series only 1 sec covering most of the field in qualifing Bathurst is our holy grail every year me and the mates gather to get pissed and what bathurst race without fail nearly religion Even the Surfers paradise indy car meet now has the V8s as equal number one act But if you want road action come to Tassie we have the challenge 3 day road touring event motokahna hillclimbs did it two weeks ago up to 900 km long Then we have rally tas 3 days pure speed on open roads up to 30 km long covering 1700 km and the big one targa tasmania 5 days pure speed open roads stages up to 50 km long covering 2400 km So come to tassie for some fast road events Mick
  2. i know with the mazda's its just a matter of changing crown wheel and pinion from a mazda van into a rx series diff housing as no factory rx came with 4.4 or 4.9 only mazda vans does not require any machine work simple bolt in bolt out Mick
  3. what the hell would you want a 5.88 ratio diff for hell the car would pull stumps it would be like a three speed gearbox unless you worked the motor for some big revs I just fitted a 4.9 to my rx4 it works great but i got 9000 rpm to play with (too bad the welded centres cant handle the sticky tyres and 4.8 ratio blew two centers in one weekend not happy first dnf in along time) Would think a 4.8 would be as low as you would need in a zed as for the r180 diffs i swear by them have been running one with lsd behind my v8 for years never given a hint of trouble Mick
  4. i run my amps under the seats out of site but fair bit of waste room under them Mick

  7. any hilux 4 spot calipers to suit solid disc will bolt up to standard zed mounts and discs hilux calipers to suit vented discs later models can be used in a conversion but will require new mounts and vent discs be they cl valaint falcon or knew someone running pugeot discs i found the falcon the best Mick
  8. any toyota wrecker will know the two different calipers the non vented calipers are on early hilux's and had s12 on them the later hilux's all run the vented calipers i have run bob set ups used the later vented calipers on falcon discs and cut the standard caliper mount off made up new mounts that bolt to the disc cover mounting holes (threaded out to larger bolts) easy conversion and works great the vented calipers have bigger pad area and bigger pistons can send pics and any more details you need theres a toyota 4wd wrecker in south australia last time i got a set of vented calipers they where $150 a pair good late model calipers cant think of there name but if you need let me know sure id have it here somewhere. Mick
  9. yeah California Z" kit was what it used to be called Mick
  10. wow what blast from the past same pics which i bought my front spoiler and rear whale tail from back in 1990 different group selling them the white car was herman grupes back then think the silver car was a customers was told at the time the flares and whale tail where jim cook racing style last i heard joe grupe had moved to Queensland so maybe someone else has got hold of the moulds was good quality stuff back then i ended up cutting 4" off the whale tail to blend in with the smooth rear on my car Still think its a good front spoiler and the wing is great too. Mick

  16. yeah the number of times i thought back and said why didnt i buy the nice neat 240z that was twice the price instead of the car i bought cheap But i did nearly every thing myself learnt a lot meet some great people doing the rebuild and finally after 2 years got a great car and i was young and stupid so most likely would have pissed the money up the wall if i hadnt had the zed to spend it on Dont despair the wait worth it if you do it right wouldnt sell my car for anything now been on the road 15 years out of the 17 i have owned it Mick

i drove my car when i first put it back together with 14" 260z mags and was running std discs with toyota 4 spot calipers no problem wasnt till i changed to ventilated and later toyota calipers that i needed 15" rims thats a tight fit though much better than the jag 4 spot calipers i tried know of someone who fitted them but i couldnt work it out the jag calipers are huge But the later toyota calipers on ventilated discs work a treat Mick

  24. dont believe z car workshop made them believed they sold them for some one else who made them You will be amazed at how a front spoiler will pull the front down at speed couldnt believe the difference the first time i drove my z with one On my rx4 rally car we had no front valance it wandered all over the road over 110 km and it has top notch suspension put the old front z spoiler on it and it handles like a dream Mick
  25. there r quiete a few front spoilers that replace the front lower panelsin one go i got my two from z car workshop in queensland many years ago the one on my car is one piece bolts up to guards the one in grey primer in my photo album is the earlier verision which sits lower in the radiator opening also bolts to guards so need for front lower panels the green plain one in my photo album has to be bolted to the frant valance BBalls spoilers look pretty sweet to me Mick
