replacement console lid
My price wouldn't be that high. I'd let it go for $30 including shipping. It's in good shape, with all screws, springs, latch, etc. Can post pics if you'd like. Let me know.

replacement console lid
I think that one fits over an existing console lid.

What would a complete serviceable 78 console lid be worth to you? I have one that I'd just probably end up giving to whoever buys the car when I sell it.

Checking Cold Start Valve
You'll need fuel pressure along with current to test the csv. So you'll either need a pressurized fuel injection cleaning cannister or the car itself to properly test it.

Early '74 Ignition vs. E12-80?
Might be tough to find someone who could speak factually on that comparison. Right of the top of my head, I can't think of anyone I know who has a 260Z and has done that conversion. Might be a good idea since some of the parts of the early EI are virtually non existant or overly expensive when you do find them.

280z motor to late 240z
Old stuff. Original poster hasn't been here since last Sept. Is waking dead threads going to be your M.O. on this site?

Buying my first z today!!
- Ummm...Question???
IIRC, the car had a starting problem and had been sitting for a long period of time. The question isn't stupid by any means. It's just that there's no one answer under those circumstances because of all of the possible variables.- grinding into reverse
This is the procedure for a 280, I'm sure the 240 is similar: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showpost.php?p=287462&postcount=7- Won't go into 5th...
Arne, he's got 4.11s.- Buying my first z today!!

Does he have experience with Datsuns? Especially the mid 70s to early 80s fuel injection system? I've seen these cars trip up seasoned mechanics.- Considering Parting with my Z .......
I think he's still considering. My case is different. I already have a plan that doesn't include things like eBay or Craig's list. No shipping, no interstate sales, etc. There's no urgency and I don't 'need' the money. I'll be basically selling these cars for what I have in them. And if I can't get that, I'll donate them.- Considering Parting with my Z .......
I'm at a similar point in my life and plan to sell all my Datsuns over the next three years in reverse order of practicality, the truck first, then the Z, then the 810 since it's been my daily driver.- Nissan/Infiniti/Datsun meet 757 "04/18/09"
I'm betting that you don't get many takers from this site or Ratsun......- NGK spark plug number
You're a 'hard head'.- My old 280Z (who doesn't wish they sold a car?)
I know who Michael Schumacher is and I also get your point. You apparently don't get mine. That's fine. To each his own.- My old 280Z (who doesn't wish they sold a car?)
Depends on where you drive them. I'm sure Mr. Schumacher wasn't seeking whatever 'gain' there was to achieve in an area where the 'risk' was hitting a mailbox. The 'limits' are generally clearly posted.- NGK spark plug number
So, Jared, it would appear that you are the one that needs to do some re thinking. These plugs are actually designed to be used on aluminum heads w/o the use of anti sieze according to the people that make them. Do what you want but I'm afraid in this case you're wrong.- NGK spark plug number
Well, I did say 'if'. As far as the anti-sieze, I don't do that but I do put a little turbine oil on the brush I use to clean the openings.- My old 280Z (who doesn't wish they sold a car?)
I think, in your case, that it might be better to watch the road or the tachometer.- NGK spark plug number
Don't be fooled by the hype. At best, the V-Power will last longer but that's about all. They don't perform any better.- NGK spark plug number
I'd say start with somewhere .040-.045 range. The two distributorless vehicles I have owned were .042 (Chevy HHR) and .045 (Infiniti J30). Now I know that neither of those cars have a setup like yours but that shoud put you in the ballpark. - Ummm...Question???
