I had them on my 78 for a while. To me, there just okay. Over the years, I've actually had slots, the 6 spoke zx wheels, the 'iron cross' zx wheels, and now the 260/280Z factory alloy which is my favorite of those four.

Have you checked the condition of the connection at the temp sensor and/or the temp sensor itself?

If you're willing to shell out the cash for a fuel cell, why not just take the tank somewhere and have it professionally cleaned? It's actually a bit more straigtforward than cleaning an EFI fuel tank. *James had basically the same thought and typed it faster than I.

Most every S30 race car I've ever seen has 4 lug wheels. What type of racing are you referring to?

I know that 72 and up (perhaps earlier) use a 7/8" MC.

That would depend on my long tern intentions for the car. If getting the highest price at resale time was a concern I'd stick with the original color. If I just wanted a particular color Z and the price and everything else is 'right' but the color is wrong, I'd paint it.

Part numbers aren't at all difficult to locate. That's what the microfiche CD and the Nissan Fast program are for. Finding a dealer that will actually search them is the trick.

The glass shop up the street here claims that he can still get them for about $140.

I think that you be happier with a Z overall. Not to knock the 311. I owned a couple of them in the past and I like them but the S30 is a bit more refined. If you can use a term like refined when referring to 60s and 70s cars in 2009:)

That's why I never buy 'big ticket' items on eBay.

If it's a 620 trans it's the same length as a S30/S130 trans. If it's earlier or later i.e. 521 or 720 it will either be too short or tilted wrong.

So even the rear panel is different contrary to what I said in post 7.

My gut feeling tells me that they are not interchangable with the S30 units as they didn't come out until 81. The 810, forerunner to the Maxima, had power steering and I know that it's not interchangable with the Maxima or the S30. They mount in a different location and relationship to the suspension as they are made for the front sump cars.

I forget the size but I used Gates fuel line/pcv/eec hose to replace those. I bought it from Napa auto years ago and haven't had any problems with it. I also use it for the PCV hoses. Don't use heater hose for that as it will deteriorate from the inside out.

Everything from the doors back was different body wise except the rear panel IIRC.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the same car. Love that rear view!

Alan T. are you listening? Seriously, I don't know how well a sub forum for 311s would go over. There was never much traffic on the Roadster sister site when it was operational.

I also have the parts for to build a stroker. Have had most of the stuff for about 5 years. I still need the pistons. My plans have changed over the years as far a what I intend to do with the engine. Presently I'm thinking along the lines of building it as a 'stock' replacement for the engine in my 810 when it needs to be replaced. I'll have it balanced and try to keep them compression down in the stock range so I can use it with the factory EFI. If it works out it will still be a strong runner going from 2.4l to 3.0/3.1l.

This is the only picture I have left of the last one I owned. It was a 70 1600 but it had a 2 liter crank, rods, and pistons, carbs and 5 speed, etc. I owned that one from 1977 to 1997. In those days they could be done for a lot less money. You could actually buy most of the parts at the dealer.

I know that but Bubbles is played by an actor named Mike Smith. Not familiar with the show but I worked with a guy who had people in Canada and would occaisionally talk about the show. I don't know who owns the car that Ricky sleeps in but wasn't it known as the "Shitmobile"? Not sure why those two thngs stick out and beyond that, I need to stay out of this thread because I really don't have a clue about the show.....

I don't get over there all that much since I haven't owned a 311 since 1997. What I do recall about them is that they are worse 'money pits' than an S30, even back then, and no one really wants to give you anything close to what you've invested in them when it comes time to sell it.
