New Z Owner!
Don't you mean the seller? Based on reading that ad, it needs more than 'a little work'. I'll tell you what, I'm an HVAC tech and I hate working on those if they have the so called 'climate control'.

Have a politically correct festive season ..... :o)
Priceless! That would also be the 'winter solstice holiday' over here in the U.S., which was acutally December 21, I believe. Wouldn't you have to state that also the be politically correct? Merry Christmas.

Brake Squeel at low speed braking
TomoHawk, do your brakes squeal? Mine never did. I do believe that the shims were part of the original design. IIRC the were on my 70.

Internet Etiquette
What made me smile is that a discussion on internet etiquette (or étiquette) has taken swings in the direction of world currency/politics, language evolution, humor(?), etc., when it's really just about common grammar and spelling and communicating in a way that we all can understand. I'm sure that the 'texty' type lingo, the '//////' thing (whatever the hell that is), the non capitalized, non punctuated run-on sentence, and other abominations of the English language has sites where the majority of the members do that sort of thing. But, if you look at this site, that's not the case here. It just amazes me that anyone defends that sort of thing; anywhere.

D.ick Turner Autocross Video
I recall having his book on autocrosssing and may still have it put away somewhere. I used to have a VHS tape that is probably the same video that is segmented on You Tube but my VHS tapes are long gone. Sadly, while doing further research on Mr. Turner and his video, I came across this: http://www.sccaforums.com/forums/forumid/18/threadid/44270/scope/posts

D.ick Turner Autocross Video
If all 11 of those are available you could download them from youtube with a program called youtubedownloader and with another one callled DVD flick, you could convert and combine them into one DVD.

You didn't sell that sweet orange one in your avatar and sig, did you? I sold my last 510 a little over 12 years ago and I still miss it.

Internet Etiquette
Could of vs. could have, your vs. you’re, its vs. it's, there vs. their, affect vs. effect, breaks vs. brakes, to vs. too, etc. The list would be endless.

Internet Etiquette
And it appears to still be pretty *high* on the list even today. To Blue's comment: abbreviations are one thing but at least we actually know how to spell the words we're abbreviating. This 'modern' generation? Maybe not so much.....ex. prolly or probly in place of probably....I see that and similar examples all of the time.

Internet Etiquette
Language evolves? Okay, but are we really talking about evolution? Unpunctuated, uncapitalized, run on sentences, modern internet hieroglyphics, urban slang, etc. Sounds more like deterioration than evolution.

I havent seen one of these in person in decades, neat car
Owned 3 2dr. and one 4dr. in the past. Never really cared for the wagons as they don't have the IRS, one of the things that made the 510 unique compared to the rest of the compact sedans available at the time.

Internet Etiquette
I saw your typo but, as Tomo stated, typos aren't really the issue that is loosely being discussed in this thread. There are, however, quite a few examples in this thread that are. Only a few seem to take it seriously. I'm not really sure that some really get it.

One of the reasons I won't buy a car on eBay.......

Where did you get that from? According to the link in post #1, it closed Dec-17-11 18:03:27 PST with 0 bids.

I don't know; did you read the description of the engine? It might have given your Nova a tough time....

You could use that as an excuse for just about anything...if you choose to.

Former Z owner
I can't really speak for the OP but, having owned both 240Zs and 280Zs as well as an 810 coupe, they they both have their +'s and -'s. From my personal experience, I think it takes more money to purchase and maintain the earlier cars. YMMV.

Former Z owner
He's owned two EFI cars in the past. He's probably not afraid of the EFI. I'm not.

Any advice on lowering 72 Z?
It doesn't work that way. That actually splits up the responses causing you to have to look several places for your answer(s). Post it once in the proper forum and you'll get your answers. That and you won't have to deal with people asking why it's so many places.

1977 FSM not helping.
The contacts can go bad inside the switch. If so, it has to be replaced. This diagram shows where continuity should be:
