  1. Looks as though the rust is the only thing that is keeping the S30 form intact......
  2. Everything on every car is user servicable IMO. It's just that, for the most part, the older cars are easier.
  3. ...people remember where the were and what they were doing when 'those cars' came out...

The 810 sedans and RWD Maximas all had a 3.70 R180 regardless of transmission.

I've seen many a vehicle that had no other mods besides a header(s). If that is all that one has planned then it's not worth the expense, IMO. That's all I was saying.....but if you already have the, use them. You just won't see much gain until you've done other things.
  6. Follow up to last post: Explains the 'custom fab' statement. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?42441-280zx-clutch-pedal-in-260z&p=365426&highlight=#post365426
  7. He didn't.

    Fixed?

There must be an echo in here with about a 4 hour delay.......
  10. Beautiful! IMO, you and Michael Good have the two sweetest 280Zs on this site. I felt that way even when I had mine.

Well, you can call that vapor lock if you wish but it really isn't. Different problem than vapor lock when it occurs on an EFI car and it has a different troubleshooting algorhythm.....

Nothing I've ever seen. Looks like a previous owner's 'custom' modification.
  13. I don't have a FB account to see it but this sounds like an "article".

Define 'improvement'. I've never been one to put a header(s) on an engine unless I planned to do other modifications. Without other modifications, there's really not much improvement over stock.
  15. Sounds like he got one of those Airtex or Delphi fuel pumps. Never heard anything good about those. The two I helped people put in their cars both failed, the replacements failed and they both ended getting OEM pumps.
  16. In the case of the S30/S130, not only would have to be an oppposite drive rack mounted upside down but also a mirror image since it would have to also mount on the opposite side of the axle than it was intended. I'm curious to see what zenermax encounters when he attempts this.......
  17. Considering the differences between the S30 and the S130 steering set ups, one having the rack mounted in front of the axle and the other having it mounted behind the axle, the considerable differences between the linkages, side rods, steering columns, etc., it should be interesting. Much fabrication will be involved. Do keep us posted.
  18. Wouldn't that actually be: Yes-you would not?
  19. If you're not spot on with your cuts, which is virtually impossible to do, you'll never be able to get it properly aligned.
  20. That spring sounds like one of those they used to sell 'back in the day' to prevent gas siphoning. They were supposed to wedge in the filler neck but maybe that one was too small and it slipped through. Did one end of it taper so that a hose wouldn't go through it?
  21. Seems to me that with the correct parts available, why would you want to attempt to modify the ZX stuff to fit?
  22. juan240z is now our top poster with the same 4,294,967,295 posts. But he only averages 5,394,388.50 posts per day.....
  23. Once it's bent will it match up with the push rod on the clutch master cyl.?

The need for a wiper motor upgrade is really more of an early S30 problem. The wipers were actually pretty good by the time the 280Z came out. Are you having problems with your wipers? The only maintainence I ever did on my78's wipers was to clean a lube everything when I bought it and they were trouble free for the 12+ years I owned that car after that.
  25. ZohanIsBack, does your 260Z presently have an automatic trans? Your other posts led me to believe that is was a stick and you just wanted to go from a 4 speed to a 5 speed. If your car is presently an automatic, you have a lot more parts to get and a lot more work ahead of you than you realize.
