We had our version of that Silvia from 77-79 and our version of the Violet/Auster from 77-81. Here's some pictures from the U.S. sales brochures. The first is the 78 200SX and the second is a 79 510 as they were baged here.

I don't think the Auster was based on the Stanza since the Violet pre-dates the Stanza. That's (Lachlan's picture) the platform that was the 77-81 510 in the U.S. I once owned a 'Silvia' like the one posted by WingZrO. It was the first generation 200SX in the U.S.
  3. It's been pulled from eBay.
  4. He doesn't know much about cars he just sells them. Look at some of his other auctions. Low feedback percentage, hidden auction numbers for items he has sold, etc. Steer clear!

On my 78 280Z, the hose from the head is the upper hose.

We already confirmed that on the first page.

It's the same console. You'd just have to remove the auto trans shift indicator assembly and use the shift boot and clips from your old console.
  8. I've always used ATF in the power steering of cars I've owned that had it.

I remember now. It's 'The Italian Job'. The 1969 version not the 2003 remake though I've never seen the new one. You didn't include the remake of 'Gone in Sixty Seconds'. I liked it also but the oringinal Toby Halicki version is classic.

What is the name of that movie that has the three Mini Coopers in it? A red one, a white one, and a blue one.
  11. In a thread we did a while back this is what a couple of the members had to say about Zzzap decals.
  12. The mileage on my 78 280Z is 20.5-24.5 depending on how I drive it. 76Datsun280z, your's sounds a bit low. Even my 810 gets 18-22 and it's a boxy, heavier car.
  13. It might not be a hybrid. By saying LT they could have meant L which would be the basic 6 that they were all produced with. There were RHD 78 Zs though they weren't called 280. That would be a Fairlady. Give us more info on the car and year and whether it LHD or RHD and S30 or a S130. In any case I have never been impressed with Chilton manuals for these cars. Factory manuals are the best way to go.

    Not that I know of.

Back in those days I think the model manufacturers were just trying to keep up to date. You'll notice that the models listed as 280Z's don't really have the 280Z type feaures.

  17. I really doubt that whoever bought it was concerned about originality. Different mindset at BJ. I've seen many cars that once sold there in the past up for sale again.
  18. 1) Local Nissan dealership or somerwhere like http://nissanparts.cc 2) Dielectric grease.
  19. Do you plan to use the turbo? I only ask because there would be some additional parts you'd need to make that work in a 78.
  20. Hi

Welcome. For the decals you might also try http://www.zeddsaver.com/. His stuff, IMO, is a cut above what Banzai sells. Most places I've seen mainly do decals for 70-78 but you might give him a call
  21. That would go good with that magnet thing on the fuel line, the 'Tornado', and what was that oil filter thing that used a roll of toilet paper as a filter?
  22. Yah mo be there.

I used to have problems with my turn signals and it turned out to be one of the connectors behind the console. I used contact cleaner and a small cylindrical wire brush on both the male and female contacts in those plugs (battery disconnected first!) and the problem never resurfaced.
  24. NOT! It's not a cold start injector, it's a cold start valve. It lets fuel into the intake manifold as long as it gets a signal but is doesn't inject it with a pulse as does an injector.

She kind of answers your statement here: But like everyone has stated, give us a little more info and maybe we can help you get it going.
