A/C Idler Pulley Rebuild
When I do mine, I use a set of internal snap ring pliers and a bearing tool. Takes about minutes.

recognize this wing???
Look like a larger less proprotinate version of the so called 'BRE' spoiler. Just large enough to throw off the Z's contour. Why would you want to reproduce that one? Now I would be interested in a good reproduction of the actual 'BRE' spoiler.

Hagerty Insurance "What's it Worth" features Z Cars
Hagerty (one g) was not designed for daily drivers. My Z is no trailer queen by any means but they don't really state a mileage limit. They restrict where you can go and still be covered but I don't have any desire to go grocery shopping or to work, etc. in my Z or my L320 pickup for that matter. That's what daily drivers are for. If I want to go to a car show, take a drive up the coast, or just take a drive, I can do that. I'm covered. I have no desire to do things that aren't fun or recreational in some way in those vehicles.

Side Marker Lights
As far as blinking side markers, you'd need dual filament bulbs in order to have the regular running side markers when they aren't blinking. I've never seen a dual filament bulb of the type that fits in the side markers and if you used a larger bulb you'd probably burn the lenses. The other problem is most likely in you turn signal switch such as a bad contact in the area that sends that signal to the dash lights.

Warning! - WIAT can strike you
26th, I like your new avitar. I have two of those in my garage. (not for sale) I actually found them at the junkyard for 10 bucks each about six or seven years ago. While some have have matching Zs, I just have matching valve covers.

I'm glad to hear the car was found. I read this story this morning and this mans car was also found though it took a little longer.

Wouldn't that be 'WIAI'?

Oh where could he be?
Cremennga, Chloe is gone, at least from this site. No site, no contact info, etc. She sold Datsun parts, OEM suff, not aftermarket. Really doesn't matter 'cause like I said, she's gone! Let it go, like we did a long time ago!

Ebay Car-What year is it really?
Well, whatever it is, it sold for $3400, met it's reserve and I guess the new owner will have to worry about it's identity.

High Idle
When I said 'California car' I meant one that was originally designed for sale in California. Some of the equipment would be a catalytic converter (though it could have been since removed), an altitude compesator (the switch I spoke of in my previous post), and a 'floor temperature' warning light (in the heater panel to the right of the map light). Does your car have any of these items?

Need web site for Datsun L6 Engine Specs
I think this is what you are referring to. lengine calc.zip

High Idle
Is it a 'California' car? If so, you're having trouble with the altitude switch. Let me know and I'll look up the procedure for checking it.

Triple side carbs. Need help from the experts.
Are they Mikuni-Solex or just Solex? I know that Datsun used Mikuni-Solex on their race cars back in the day. I actually had a set of 44MM Mikuni/Solex on a 510 years ago. I eventually sold them because without more engine work, that was simply too much carbureation. I imagine that they would be hard to find parts for now. I've been away from the carb scene for a while and I basically just deal with fuel injected cars now. Hopefully some of the members with more carb knowledge will chime in here.

1977 280z Zzap
My louvers which, according to the original owner were dealer installed, are mounted with no drilling. The mounting brackets slide under the weatherstrip and are actually glued in place.

$150 for a 79ZX engine. Is it worth it?
I thought we covered that in a thread a while back. The method of rating horsepower changed for the 79 model year. The hosepower of a 75-78 280z is essentially the same as a NA 79-83 280zx.

I think that may have been dhoneycutt. I saved a picture of his Skyline a while back. Haven't seen him post here for a while.

Will this race be televised on Speed channel or one of the other networks at some point?

keyed up
On the subject of rare keys, on one of the other sites I frequent, a guy bought a 64 Datsun L320 pickup like the one I own and it came with this:

For you Seattle Seahawk fans...........
And with all the rust showing on that car, he really should take the money and run!

Taillight poll
I think this is mainly for the 240/early 260 guys and that's why I've not voted. As far as clear 280 turn signal lenses, I don't think I've ever seen any.

Rally Clock on Ebay
I have a late model rally clock. It's not in the car yet and I've had it for about two years. I actually found it in a car in the junkyard, don't know why it was there but recognized it right away. Paid very little for it. I made a tester out of a clock plug-in terminal cut from a 280 harness and it checked out fine. It's the later style that will plug right in to a 280Z but my stock clock works fine. I guess I'm just keeping it as a back up in case mine ever quits as I don't rally my car. If I did, I would probably use me pen tablet much in the way that Tomohawk uses his palm pc.

1977 280z Zzap
The ZZZap was a 4-speed. The five speed was and option as it was on the Black Pearl or any 77-78 280Z.

Nissan concept
It'll need to be toned down quite a bit because right now it's just plain ugly. http://www.nissannews.com/multimedia/concept/nissan_concept.shtml
