Well it's been fun guys but...
Well, Jared, I hate to see a seasoned member leave for any reason. Any seasoned member but expecially a 280Z guy. It's been happening all too often. We've lost many and I've even considered leaving due to all of the crap that seems to go on a regular basis now. It's the veterans that keep me coming back. Happy holidays and good luck with everything.

What's This?
Maybe that's what your mistery togggle switch in the other thread is for.

Who wants a set of Euro tail lights for under $200?
Troy, this site isn't what is once was. I cringe when I think of some of the replies your post may get. You were badmouthed in this thread and even when questioned the person didn't say why. I really don't know if coming here to defend your postition will get the response you would hope for. Lots of kids here, lots of people who feel their opinion is of more importance that others, etc. I personally wouldn't get into one of those 'get enough people together and well make something for you' type deals and I don't see any need for you to defend yourself against such a thing. I'll be the first one to admit I'm wrong if these guys get their $200 euro taillights and the quality is even close to the ones you sell. I've seen yours. I've only seen pictures of the "Klearz" and they're not even their own pictures?

Glisten PC
Don't really know about Glisten PC. I used a differnt product. Can't recall the name. When I find it, I'll post it here.

That's the same one as the 1977 US 280Z emblem. The other (on the right in my last post) was used on the 1978 US 280Z and on US 810 Coupes (79-80). They seem to be optional since they were not on all of the above mentioned cars.

I don't think the two are the same. The first pic is a Honda emblem and the second pic is the Z/810/Skyline emblem.

Michael is working with a steel valve cover. I have polished and clear coated aluminum with good results. If the clear coat is properly applied to aluminum, corrosion won't develop under it.

Happy Birthday, Lachlan! Since we temporarily have no shout box, I looked for you last post.

from where can i get a proper Canister??!
I'm not sure about the GMC carbon canister because I've never tried to put one in a Z. We talked about carbon canisters in this link. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19679&highlight=Carbon+canister

Noisy Engine Fan
I briazed the holes closed, ground them smooth and repainted the bottom tank. But you don't really have to plug them for a stick. Most people just leave them open since nothing will be running through them.

Noisy Engine Fan
I bought a Modine radiator from a local shop for $140. It fit correctly and I've had no problems with it.

Factory service manual
Try these. The first is for a 76. The second is more geared to a 77-78 but it would be of some help. http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/76sb/1976_280z_S30_Service_Bulletin.pdf http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/efisystem/280zfuelinjectionbook.pdf

Decals or labels in the engine bay
I just spoke to Norm at zedsaver. He really knows his stuff. And he does a lot more than decals. Give his site a look!

Decals or labels in the engine bay
Wow! I like the fact that his paint code decals come pre printed with the code. I don't think Banzai's do. Thanks for the link.

Noisy Engine Fan
You'll have to remove the top half of the shroud to get at the fan and clutch. When I did mine, I just replaced the radiator. I figured since I was replacing things such as all the coolant hoses, the thermostat, the water pump, belts, and hoses, I might as well replace the radiator too while I had everything apart. You can clean up an old one and paint it but a new one looks nicer. It's not that much more costly than a quality rod out, and repair. Plus it's peace of mind. I do believe that my old radiator was the original one.

Interesting. The 'Nissan Matic' badge seems to be the same one used here (US) on the 510 (72-73) and the '5 Speed' badge is the same one used on the 78 280Z. Different part numbers, however.

Honda blower motor installation
Are the ducts that run from the center vent to the side vents okay? I had to replace those when I bought my car because they were cracked and a lot of air was lost under the dash. Does your car have factory or dealer installed air?

Honda blower motor installation
klpete45, since I'm the only one so far in this thread that even said anything that sounded like "why", I think you misunderstood me. I'm not knocking what you did, I was simply looking for enlightenment. Read my post. I live in Southern California and summer is similar to what you describe in your area. Like I said, I'm a certified Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning tech. My air conditioning system w/stock fan cools just fine. I was unaware that your stock fan was not functioning properly and that is not clear in your original post. I had always heard of swapping out a 240 fan for a Honda fan but never really read much about doing that to a 280 since by the they had their own factory system. If I came across as knocking what you did, I apologize because that was not my intent.

Is this stupid or what?
Last post in this thread because none of this belongs on this site but I'll leave this thread by saying this: That's just not true.

Eat your heart out......
Thanks, Carl and Vicky. I'm really not a typical classic car guy. I'd rather look at them than own them. My Z is maybe a low 3 or a high 4. The 810 is a low 4 or maybe even a high 5. I just think that the eBay car we're discussing was a little short of the sellers praise. It is, however, as fine an example of a 280Z that I've ever seen.

Is this stupid or what?
Just think, Enigma, this thread was dead for three months until you revived it. For what? To quote that issue riddled individual 'smokingwheels'? See what happens here? I don't think that the author of this thread, 'deedee', has even answered. She violated the law and was looking for sympathy. But, it was dead! Doesn't take much to enrage people on this site. Look at the response from the guy above with only two posts at the time. He was just rude. Jackhammer's posts make sense whether you consider them tactless or not. But this is not the place to air this type of crap out. Find a homeowners site or a civic law site and bash each others brains out! But it doesn't belong here. Look how many good members we've lost here. I could name them but most of you know who I'm talking about. When this site is made up of unknowledgable teenagers and people who want to convince us of the merits of traveling at ungodly speeds on public roads, people that believe that you get 10 hp from changing you air filter, etc. I hope you all enjoy it!

Electric Windows in 240k?
Both of the one's I saw at the recent Japanese Classic Car Show had power windows. I believe they were brought in from Japan.

Carl, do you feel that the car in question falls into the category you describe? A true #1, etc.?
