Thermotime Switch (Trivia)
Never tried one. If it has the same configuration as far as design, mounting, electrical connection, I don't see why it wouldn't work. Put up a picture of that 810. I also own one (a 79 2 dr Cali Model). Don't see them very often.

Flooding and unable to get started
First thing to check on the efi L6 is the coldstart valve to make sure that it isn't leaking into the manifold causing a rich condition, and the temperature sensor making sure that it works and closes when the engine is warm. I'm not sure if the 83 would have a thermotime switch because at some point in the ZX's, from what I uderstand, that function was put in the ecu.

Me as a teen.
Probably around Christmas 1969. No Caddy but I did have a gold 1962 Impala SS which I ultimately traded in in 1970 on a new Z!

Me as a teen.
My stepmom found this picture of me when I was 18 or 19. That was before I had my first Z. It immediately made me think of the one that Bill Ramsey posted here a while back.

240Z with a Sunroof
Isn't that what I said?

engine won't turn over
There is no neutral safety switch or inhibitor switch on S30's with manual transmissions. First thing I would check is the ignition relay.

Starter Issues HELP!!!!
Does the 'buzzing' sound like the starter is spinning but not engaging? If so, you've got a bad flex plate. I had a 72 510 with and automatic that had the same problem.

240Z with a Sunroof
Not a factory option. Sometimes they were dealer installed or the car owner either installed one or had a shop put it on.

VB Headlight Harness
Oh, don't take it that way, it was just an observation. My opinion is worth no more or no less that anyone elses. I tend sometimes to be blunt. And it usually comes back my way too though not quite as much as when Bambikiller was around on a regular basis. I just hope you get 'Lady J' sorted out to your liking. That's what we're all here for anyway, isn't it?

VB Headlight Harness
I remember that thread. (The 240Zdragon72 thread) I don't know what a headlight harness has to do with it but I do remember that in that thread you jumped around like a rabbit, changing virtually everything under the hood, never really fixing the problem you originally complained about.

R33 suspension in 240z
I have no answer for your question but I love your user name. That was the name of a project I started but never completed a few years back.

Save S30-0002
I wasn't trying to be a wet blanket. I would like to see this car brought back to life. I just think that it would be more of a challenge than say Chris (26&27) is facing. From what I have read it would be the earliest numbered remaining example of the Z.

'Picked up my 280Z Today :D
Are you sure that your switch works like that? As far as I know, Zs never had the high beam flash feature. That showed up in the 810s and ZXs.

Save S30-0002
Ah the 'R' word. I agree that is is an incredible find but how could that car ever be truly restored with so many of the key original parts missing?

New 280z Owner!
Just off the top of my head, $3100CAN is about $2550-2560USD.

Help with headlights!
When I first got my 78 it also had that problem. Luckily I was able to get another assembly from a parts car at my friends shop and it's been fine ever since. But one day, out of curiousity, I took the old one apart, cleaned it up, lubed it here and there (dielectric grease) and plugged it back in and now it works fine.

This switch is a bitch
Fredzed, I've sent you an email, in fact I've sent you two emails.

You can never have enough tools :D
I have a ball joint tool and a tie rod tool that attaches to my air hammer. Makes the job a breeze! I would suggest an alignment any time you change a suspension component. Unfortunately I don't have an alignment machine (or a tire changer or a wheel balancer for that matter). Wish I did but I could never get such a purchase past the wife.

Datsun wheel identification help
I found three of those wheels in the junkyard about 2 years ago for $15 each! Finding the fourth was and adventure. I ended up buying one from a guy in Australia for $50aud and with shipping it was $111aud which is what about $70-75us? So all together my set of wheels cost $115-120. From the 1979 Datsun 810 accesories catalog (USA): UPDATE: I found another one in the junkyard 8/2/05 so now I have a spare!

Turn signal woes
I had a slow blinking/sticking situation with the blinkers on my 810. A new flasher unit solved the problem.

What's the best fuel injector ?
I swear by that stuff (Seafoam) It can be used for immediate cleaning as a752adz stated or as an in tank cleaner occaisionally added to the gas.
