Z Car On History Channel November 7
Actually, back when I posted that, I thought it would be much better than it turned out to be. We have already discussed it at length. Take two Zs, spend a little time and money on them, and make them slower!

f#ck this sh#ts me............
johncdeere, on a note much more pertinent than this thread, at least to me, I love that morphing avitar! How does that work? Can it be done with more than two images?

What year is this Engine?
It might be hard to pinpoint the year. Both my 78 (280Z) and my 79 (810) have the BCDD. And they also both have N47 heads.

Diecast model.
The best 240 in 1/18 IMO is the Kyosho. They even have the vertical defroster lines. Yat Ming is about the same quality wise as Road Signature and the least quality wise would be Sunstar. Sunstar is the company that makes a black 1972 and as we all know, there were no black 240s from the factory.

L28 Carb? or FI
They (both sets) were 46mm 'Boat Anchors' rebuilt and 'played with' by myself and a couple of friends of mine back in the late 70s/early 80s. Let's just let this thing go! This is the second time you've tried to tell me what kind of carbs I had.

Thinking of installing an 81-83 5 speed
I have that trans in my 78. It came out of an 82 Maxima. I really don't notice much of an acceleration difference in the lower gears, not do I notice any difference in the throw. That might be because my shifter bushings were shot in the old trans so I can't really compare it to the newer one. But I do notice the gas mileage and rpm difference with the higher fifth gear. I bought mine used eight years ago and haven't had any problems with it.

Apexi S-AFC .. results... it works! sort of...
What kind of results/improvements was this device claiming to yeild?

Has anyone converted to a serpentine drive system?
Some of the S30s I've seen with the serpentine belt did it in order to use the Maxima 90 amp alternator.

VIN's and model/year
Can't be a 260. Remember they are "RLS30" and besides he says it has an L24.

Need help finding parts?
From what I can determine the 75-76 switch is the same as the 77-78 switch except for the connector. If you can't find one maybe you could change the connector on one of mine. Let me know, I'd give it to you for the cost of postage.

Your birthday car
I almost posted links to military vehicles. I guess automobile production actually ceased for the 1943-1945 model years. Don't know for sure, despite what some people think, I wasn't here yet!

Your birthday car
Wasn't automobile production ceased 1943-1946 due to WWII?

Need help finding parts?
I probably have one but it's for a 78. My stuff is boxed up because we're moving this weekend but I'll know for sure early next week. I don't know if the switch for a 78 is different than a 76. Where are you located?

Basic 240z education needed
Humor, ar, ar! I wonder if the non-Chevy oriented got it.

Well Damn
I sometimes wonder why you drive that car but I guess it's the only one you have that runs. All I can say is be careful.

Your birthday car
Well, I was born in 1950. Some of the most interesting cars came out in that era, IMO. They styling, engineering etc. was so different to what we have become accustomed to. Wood sided station wagons, large rounded shaped vehicles, distinctively styled trucks, and some very unique and highly sought after European cars. Japanese cars weren't even here in the US yet. You know what those cars look like. Your parents, like mine, drove them.

L28 rebuild, what to do?
Tomo, all of that stuff falls under the heading of 'no-brainer!' Once again, HELLO!!?

Production of 260Z 2+2
From what I have figured out, at least in the U.S., a 75 260Z is the same as a late 74 260Z. It seems that Datsun didn't have the 280Z ready in late 74 when the model year change took place so they continued to produce the 260Z until the 280Z was ready. In other countries the 260Z was produced longer, I think until late 78 (79 model year) because they never got the 280Z. I seem to remember someone saying that that was the case in Australia.

best economical swap
You also should know that the SR20DE/DET that people use in these swaps is not a Sentra engine. The Sentra engine is a front wheel drive engine. The engine used in these swaps is a RWD, non USA engine. I don't like them in a Z but that's just my opinion. I'll tell you what, though, the one SR20DET-Z I have seen was damn fast! But if you're looking to do a 4 cyl swap for economy reasons, buy a 4 cyl car instead.

Look at this E-bay car
It's not an automatic, regardless of his description. Look at the shifter and the clutch pedal in the pictures.
-
chromed ZX rims
Looks like there has been some grinding and smooting done on those wheels. Hard to tell, though, if they are actually chromed or just highly polished.
-
Look at this E-bay car
It it is as described, I'd say that the BIN price would be a steal for a 70. But it sounds too good to be true to me. Comes with the 'D' hubcaps and stock wheels too. Correct valve cover and oil cap, NGK wires (I think) but aren't some of the stickers missing from under the hood? Don't really care for the uretheane bushings or the cd player if you're looking for original, however.

Fuel Injector Hose Leaking!
36-40 PSI for the EFI cars.
-
Fuel Injector Hose Leaking!
That's an area where overkill is a good thing. The hose I use which I purchased at ACE hardware, is rated at 250psi! We discussed it in another thread

Running Rich
If it doesn't have continuity when you check it as shown in the picture, it won't be closed when it gets the signal from the starter and thus won't send the signal to the CSV.
