If those are the choices, maybe a targa top isn't all that important!

I believe that the 'R' engine didn't show up until 1966

That really doesn't help if the seller sticks his own hidden handling charge in the shipping. And when have you ever seen an eBay seller list the weight.
  4. Patrick, you might find this interesting: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11517&page=1&pp=15&highlight=Honda+strut+tower+brace

As I recall, his excuse was "I don't make up the charges, UPS does" and with that, I just decided not to do business with him.

I have looked through his auctions before and noticed his high and inconsistent shipping charges. I'd never buy from him.

That's one I don't have. I have a couple of magazine write-ups, one from the Jan 79 Road & Track and another from the Aug 78 Car & Driver on the Datsun 810 Coupe as well as a postcard showing the 79 coupe and wagon, a few assorted ads and a Datsun brochure that shows accessories for the 79 810. They referred to the color or mine as Mahogany Metallic (609).

    Or fuel injection!

Datsuns can ocasionally do that to you!

It's been done but I've never heard anything good about this conversion. Are you having trouble with your fuel injection? If so, what kind of trouble?
  11. Naw, just an 'LA' block. (I used to be into 'Mopars')

There's a 1979 Datsun FSM at http://www.books4cars.com/result2.asp?findyear=1979&submit=Go. It is, however, $41.95. I paid $15 for mine about a year and half ago. (eBay buy-it-now)

TomoHawk, have you modified the torque converter? Every Datsun I've driven with an automatic, either Borg Warner or Nissanmatic would hook up at the first push of the throttle.

Looks better than mine when I picked it up. It appears that the power antenna has been replaced. Virtually impossible to find. Had do open mine up and do some cleaning and soldering to get it to work. Yours doesn't have the optional passenger side electric mirror. Don't know how hard that would be to find (if you wanted it) but I do have a couple of extra switches for them. If you ever have any questions about parts check with me. I've done a lot of reaseach on these cars in the year and a half I've had mine.

Never experienced that with them but I've only purchased a few things from them, one at a time. Found an original dash pad there for my 810. Some mouldings, etc. Even if they do charge for additional parts in the order, you can't beat their prices!

I had a 1981 200SX. Z20 engine, 5 speed, etc. Compared to the 77-79, the 80-83 is sort of like the 'ZX' of that family.

Don't know how rare they are but you don't see them too often. L20B, auto trans, mileage is probably 131990 by the condition of the seats. Wasn't this one of the cars also known as 'Silvia' in the rest of the world?

I called them this morning and the lady that answered says that they don't have an email address. That seems strange since if you place an online order, they ask for your email address which I imagine they would use to contact you with order details. That message has to come from somewhere. I asked her about the heater knob but she was unable to give me a part number. I couldn't find it in their catalog. ATC, you might be better off going with MSA.

Haven't done much business with them. I did purchase a center console for my 78 from them about three years ago and it was cheaper than MSA.

I know the lugs well. Have them on both cars. I can go pick four of them off a car in the junkyard, I might even have some here already. And they would be the actual Nissan lug nuts. The ones in Victor's picture aren't. Let me know if you can't find them locally and you can have them for postage.

Sorry guys, I guess if I had paid proper attention to the post...oh, well. No email address in the catalog that I can see. They are closed now. It's 8:30PM here (10:30PM in Kansas) so I'll give them a call in the morning and see if I can get that information for you.

I don't know why or how but in that third picture, the torsion rod is installed backwards. The one that connects the back part of the linkage to the front should go in through the top of the opening. Seems to me that that would cause it to bind. I'm taking a picture of mine as we speak to show what I mean. Now, compare your picture to mine.

I'm not really certain about the interchangability of 280ZX suspension parts on an 810. I haven't had a chance to look in to that yet. The are part numbers for the suspension in the parts list I'm sending to you if that will help.

I'll send you a parts list when I send the pedal assy. Check periodically on eBay for the Nissan 79 810 FSM as they do come up now and then, like I said, that's how I found mine. They are usually reasonable since they're not as popular as the Z FSM.
