Just picked up 73 240z. Should I rebuild the L24 or swap to something else???
I have a buddy in L.A. that does those. I personally don't care for that swap not that I'm a purist or anything of that sort. Just that downsizing to a 4 cyl just does'nt feel right to me. The one I rode in with that swap was fast but it just didn't have the right sound for a Z. You can do a lot to an L6 with $5K!

your opinion / story on Datsun Cherry 100a 1977
Here it was called the F10. I don't think we got the 4dr sedan, only the 3dr wagon and the 2dr hatchback. They'e front wheel drive with an A14 engine and either a Automatic or 5 spd transaxle. The hatchback had IRS. I never owend one but supposedly they could get over 40 mpg.

For Trade: R200 for R180
Has anyone ever looked into the 90-92 Infiniti M30 or 93-97 Infiniti J30 R200 as to whether or not it will work in a 1st generation Z?

This Z was stored in a chicken coop since 1987
Page 6 (post #82 but you edited it) and page 7 (post #99). No biggie though. I almost fell for it until I went back and re-read the entire thread on the other site.

Charley's Comming
I, too, am concerned about the Zrush's after reading and seeing the news. I pray that they, their cars, and their home are okay.

At least twice in this thread alone!

Bill, read the thread again.

Is This For Real?
How do you suppose that one would go about that considering this type of stuff seems to appear in threads that, at least by their title, give you no clue that they contain this type of content?

Is This For Real?
I'd have to agree with 240znz. This is not about intolerance or choice. The only choice we seem to have here is to comment or not comment. Differing points of view are fine but is this really necessary subject matter for a car site? And it's not just 'one thread' as earlier stated. I try my best to choose threads that are of interest to me, but there is, IMO, a lot of crap intertwined into many of them. And in many cases people are forcing their opinion on those who read through it. I guess that is their right, but don't try to validate it with me by saying things like 'the site not being run exclusively for your pleasure', or 'there's more to life than Zs'. You'll end up with a lot of people more interested in arguing personal opinion and less people interested in cars. I'm done with this one!

We need a way to delete our own posts in case we double post.

Datsun Alloy Rim
Yes, it's basically the same as the 200B. The front end of the 810 is extended for the 6 cyl engine. If I could find a nice set of 200B bumpers I would consider purchasing them. I am using 200B weatherstripping purchased from Rare Spares. Quite a few parts are intechangeable.

Datsun Alloy Rim
It's my daily driver. It still needs interior work, headliner and seats (hidden by sheepskins). The only show I ever had it in was last year and it came in second to a really clean and original 1200 hatchback (KLB110).

Datsun Alloy Rim
They were only made from 7/78-9/79. Haven't seen another one on the road in the year and a half I've had this one. In that same time period I've seen four in the junkyards and one of them was the parts car I sold to them.

You have no clue what kind of job Gore would have done or Kerry would do. Niether do I for that matter. How in the Hell does a thread about a Z car for sale turn into this? If I wanted political debate (and I don't) I would go to that type of site. But not here. Like PROJOCTRB240SX said, debating politics is stupid. It's even more stupid on a car site. :disappoin

Just bought a factory restored 72 240Z!
Try to think of it as the 'Nissan Factory' Restoration Program rather that the 'Nissan Factory Restoration' Program.

what's the deal with these bumpers?
Okay, that's a 77-78 280Z. It may have a/c but it doesn't have power steering, not available on a 280Z. The bumpers are the stock 77-78 ones but painting them makes them stand out like an even sorer thumb! It's not bad gas that would make it run bad after sitting two years, it's a bad gas tank! Been there, done that. This guy obviously knows bupkis about the car based on the way he describes it.

Just a follow up. The other wheel arrived today! It only took eight days to ship from Coomera Shores, Australia to Fontana, Califronia, USA! I've had interstate packages take longer than that. Thanks again to Jason, Australia Post, and everyone here who gave their input. I'll post some pictures when I get them all cleaned up and mounted on the car.

I'd have to agree with Carl. In my post, I said, basically, do what you want, it's your car. But, by coming here on a dare, what did you expect, ls1240z? You asked for opinions and you got them. No need to be bitter or expect and apology. If you are so hell-bent to built this car then build it. You don't need our approval. If you would have done that in the first place, insead of coming here to start all of this, we'd be none the wiser, youd be well on your way to doing what you really wanted to do with the car and no ones feathers would be ruffled. But don't come here expecting praise or apologies. If you are looking for compassion you might find it on the site that dared you to come here. People try to force things on us like the 350Z, this V8z thing, and other non Classic Z stuff. Then they get an attitude when they get resistance. When you beat it to death like this thread has done (65 posts and counting), sooner or later it might even become personal. I try not to do that but it's human nature. After all, what is the name of THIS SITE?

1965 Datsun Pickup on Ebay
From personal experience, I can tell you, putting a Z back together is easier than putting a 320 pickup back together. If you think Z parts are a treasure hunt, you should try one of these. Mine was complete and running when I bought it in 1980. Some parts were available then but the supply has really dried up over the last 20 years or so. I dread ever having to find a body part for my truck. The mechanical stuff you can find or make do with something else but the body and interior parts are really scarce. I have more luck finding stuff for my 810.

Restoration Tire Size?
MAX, Mike is running 205/60-14s and you're considering 205/60-16s.

What would a good price be....
What is the overall condition of the car? You say new paint but what has been done about the BPE graphics? How does it run? I seem to remember fuel delivery and/or electrical problems with this car. How is the interior? What is missing or needs to be replaced? All of those things are important in determining a price.

As, usual, Carl beat me to it! I guess we can't delete posts anymore.

Compression on Turbo motors?
All I have ever seen of that twin turbo is the picture. Does anyone know if they ever made it work? Exhaust manifold, electronics, etc.? The cost would be ridiculous and I don't know, judging from the two pictures I've seen of the engine on a stand, if you could even get that to fit under the hood of a Z.
