  1. Are you talking about the 'Gross Vehicle Weight' on the tag? That includes the car, passengers, and cargo.

I, too, sent an email questiong the 62 Ferrari registration and the acquisition fee/registration thing so, we'll see!:devious:

I wonder what the real reason they changed their eBay user name since you can't find any info under the old name.

I earned a B.A. in Music Arranging, Scoring, and Conducting. Worked 35 years as a Grocery Clerk and then retired, got bored and went to work as the Receiver at ACE Hardware. Played the Saxophone, Piano and drove Datsuns all my adult life. So, I never really grew up either!:classic:

Bill, how about 'Some high school?'
  6. Thanks, Craig. I was going to make a similar comment along with an opinion but it would have probably been deleted!
  7. PORSCHE?
  8. Don't need another one, I already have 13! Actually that avitar picture is the decal that's on my L320 oil cap.

Is there a sharp edge on the barb that goes into that particular hose? Or is it bent? Otherwise, I'm having a problem figuring out why it blows just that one. If the fuel pressure was too high, I would think more that one hose would be affected. I've changed hoses on both my F.I. cars and have never experienced that.
  10. Symon, I'm 6'2" and sitting in Les's Silvia was a little cramped. But not as cramped as my 1964 L320 pickup. I think you'll be okay.
  11. Bill, a 10/71 build date would make it a 72 .
  12. If you mean the five-slots that are on the red Z in your gallery, they are aluminum not steel. In which case use an aluminum polish like Mother's, Blue Magic, etc. They're all pretty much the same chemicals. The rims pictured aren't as intricate as some others so they won't be as hard to polish. The more you buff them, the shinier they'll get. I actually like the results of hand buffing. I used my bench grinder with a buffing wheel (and many hours of work!) to polish a set of 'Iron Cross' ZX wheels to look like chrome. When I put them on my Z, I just didn't like the look. The hand polished look is more of a satin type shine which I feel suits the early Z better. Take a look at Victor Laury's car. Just my opinion.

Let me see . . . black bra, see-trough headlight covers, fur (sheepskins), and I know how to turn her on . . . . :devious:
  14. Actually, I got the 'Corvair' feeling while viewing the 2+2 Silvia prototype on the Silvia site. I wonder whatever happened to the LHD Silvia prototype cars? Maybe Alan T. would know.
  15. Is it just me or does the Silvia resemble the ill-fated Chevrolet Corvair?
  16. Well, I've seen in both ways. Even in publications. I'm sure you're correct as my knowledge of those cars is; at best, limited. However, after doing some quick reaearch, I will change that 'y 'to an 'i' on every reference to them on my computer.:classic:
  17. You'll have to remove the fan shroud first. Drain the coolant and reomove the upper and lower radiator hoses. Remove the splash pan from underneath. Remove the three screws that hold the two halves of the fan shroud together. Remove the lower half from underneath. Remove the screws that hold the upper half and remove it. I use a deep 10mm socket on a 1/4" drive ratchet to remove the four bolts from the fan. Remove the four nuts from the fan clutch. When re assembling, if you put the retaining clips that hold the screws on the bottom half of the fan shroud, you can screw the two halves together from the top and next time you wont have to get underneath the car or drain the coolant to remove the fan and clutch.
  18. Les Cannaday of Classic Datsun Motorsports has a 66 Sylvia that he is in to process of restoring. It's the only Sylvia I've actually seen in person. Here's a picture I took at last years Mossy Nissan show.
  19. 'Showing up' and being accepted are two different things. I've checked out the Empire Z site and it seems to be very Z31-32-33 oriented.
  20. But, they are what belongs on the car. If you want the 'early chrome ones' get a car that has them IMO.

    I'm using 4.0 maybe that's the problem. I'll try 6.0.

There is no option to save it to the hard drive.
  23. That really isn't true. My 320 has no fan clutch. Nor did the roadsters as well as other non-Datsun cars I've owned.
  24. You can spin the blades with the engine off. Also, the fan locks up when the engine is cold because the oil is cold. As soon as the oil warms sufficiently, the fan will slip until lock up is needed based on temperature. I don't really get the gist of this thread. Is your car overheating?

Wayne, you're going to have to talk us through printing that other than a single page because that's all I can get it to do. There is no 'print current view' option usless I'm missing something.
