header options
I would steer away from the ZX injector coolers. It's always been questionable to me if they really accomplish anything plus that's one more electrical accessory your system has to deal with. The 280Zs didn't have them. The 810s and Maximas didn't have them. I just wonder why the ZXs did. Just one more gadget on a car overrun with gadgets. (I don't mean yours, I'm talking about the ZX). I would try a heat shield and/or some of that insulating header wrap.

advice
First of all, I would like to apologize to you for my response earlier in this thread. It's just that in my almost 54 years, I have had so many problems with so many people. Some good advice has been offered by the other members. When I was younger, I had a tendency to follow my instincts which sometimes tended to make the situation worse. When you are dealing with people there are so many variables. No two situations are the same. I don't know what this person is capable of so it's hard for me to give advice. I would, however, get a professional involved. The fact that she had treatened to kill herself and the threatining calls to your girlfriend would make me go to whatever means necessary to protect me and mine.

Japan Grand Prix Grille Badge
Thank you, Alan. I, too, am impressed. It wasn't my Bluebird although I did own a 66 RL411 some years back. I found that badge on a 410 sedan in the junkyard about 3 years ago. I believe I said it was a 411 but as I recall, it had to be a 410 because it had a J13 engine. I think it was also right hand drive. Mine had an R16 and was left hand drive.

advice
That's beyond my expertise. If I was an expert on the human experience, I wouldn't have worked for a grocery store for 34 1/2 years, and then return to work in a hardware store one month after retiring, get married three times, (third time is a charm), and be so fascinated with 25+ year old Japaneese cars. Wish I could advise you but I have a tough enough time keeping my own house in order as they say. All I can say is good luck with that one!

Z Music
It would be a tough list to pare down. So much great music came out of the seventies, maybe more so than any era! You mention ?Steppenwolf, Golden Earring, The Sweet, The Police . . . Great Stuff! And there is so much more. Blood, Sweat, and Tears, Free (Allright Now), Motley Crue, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Deep Purple, AC/DC, Mott The Hoople, I could go on and on. (And have!)

naps-z ?????
Here in the US, a NAPS-Z engine was a FOUR cylinder. It was SOHC, crossflow, with two spark plugs per cylinder. It was sort of a smog modification of the L series four cylinder. It was in the 80-82 510 (A10), the 80-83 200SX, and the 80-83 pickups. As I recall it came as a Z20, Z22, and Z24. I remember seeing a Z18 at one of the engine importers.

Japan Grand Prix Grille Badge
I found this grille badge a few years back. It was on the grille of a 411 sedan. It reads: JAPAN GRAND PRIX FISCO MAY 1966. I has a chequered flag with '3rd' and a diagram of a road course in the centre. I was just curious as to whether it had any historical signifigance.

Haven't seen it in years but wasn't the scenario that they knew the answer (42) but they didn't know the actual question?

5 Speed Swap
I don't think it really helps much with acceleration. I have a 1978 280Z that originally had a 5 speed. That trans died so I replaced it with a 82 Maxima 5spd which is the same as a ZX trans. The case is aluminum instead of cast iron and 5th gear is lower. I picked up about 1.1 highway mpg but other than that I don't really notice much difference in normal street driving. Overall, however, I would say the swap is worthwhile. I also went with the 2+2/Turbo clutch.

Very rare 240Z emblem
I do remember that my 70 240Z had a locking gas door. I purchased it in Jan 1970. I wish I could remember the vin. Hell, I was only 19 then. I bought a 72 two years later and two thngs I remember was the 70 had a locking gas door, the 72 didn't, and the 72 had a rear window defroster while the 70 didn't. Like I said on another thread, Datsun bought the 70 back from me for what I paid for it, two years later! I think they knew then what I know now!:stupid:

Honda Strut Bar/Brace for Z
Well, I talked to Calvin as Megan Racing. They sell these bars on ebay (see the inital post in this thread). They are working on a bar for the first generation Z car. I don't know if they will sell them on ebay but I will let you know when it becomes available.

Wheel trims...the BEST
Were they the same 71-76?

horror
It seems to have kind of a Corvette thing going front and rear. If that started out as a 77 Liftback, that's the only year we had them here in the US. Why do that to it? There's not that many of them left. At least, not here.

280zx radiator into 240Z
Well, I know that the ZX radiator is taller. I compared them side by side in the junkyard once. I decided to have my stock radiator redone because I was concerned about how the fan shroud would line up if I lowered the ZX radiator.

classifies
I think that would mean chrome, stainless, or any other non-painted shiny trim parts.

Higher Compression, Harder the Start?
After buying a stater at Chief Auto Parts, having it act up in two weeks, I went back and exchanged it. The replacement did the same thing in about a month. I went to the junkyard and pulled 5 280ZX starters, took them over to the tester, selected the best one and it's im my 78 280Z. Still going strong 6 years later!

Wow, even more rust and wires insted of fusible links. There's even rust on the wiper motor shafts. He even has his V.D.V on backwards.

Maxima L24E head (E88)
Every 810/910/Maxima L24E I've ever seen has an N47 head.

which one...SU vs FI ?
Not necessarily. I have had both and I would really rather deal with fuel injection. When it's right, it's less finicky than carbs. When I bought my 810, it had been sitting for four years. I put a fuel pressure regulator on it, aired up the tires and drove it 60 miles home. I'd like to see someone do that with carbs under the same circumstances.

'78 Black Pearl for $1000!
Beisdes the picture of the rear which shows way too much rust as Ed noted, was anyone able to get any of the other pictures to load? For me, the front view wouldn't expand and the other two didn't even show.
