No, no! 'Bad' is in Georgia, 'Glide' is in Florida, and 'Tex' is going to Calli.

I also thought that was an interesting comment considering that his screen name is 'We Bad'. Maybe his post was also tongue in cheek. It's difficult to read the intent sometimes.

The control units used in 1983 were not what you'd call an "ECM". They did no adjustments, calculations, etc. The were pretty much passive and simply patched signals through. Think analog vs. digital when comparing them to anything modern. Therefore, they wouldn't be able to 'simulate a ground fault'.

Your car, like mine, has/had so called 'dealer' installed AC, his has factory which would have the tensioners or idler pulleys.

Not sure I get that. I'm just answering Powerglde's question and rather tongue in cheek at that....

7+ years might be a record for bringing back a dead thread. dillie327, take note of the date of the threads you respond to. Most of the people in it don't even post here anymore.....

Calli=California, peep=person or people, hollar=call/contact/acknowledge. I was really just giving you a hard time, however. The internet probably deserves a large part of the blame for general erosion of the English langauge over the past decade or so. I've tried to keep up with some of the terminology. Having a 29 year old son and a 35 year old daughter helps.....
  8. You'll also have to hook up the downshift solenold. I'm not sure if they run off the gas pedal or the linkage somewhere.

    It requires a little fabrication.

    The rest of us did.....

'Huh' is also slang....in this day and age, as long as you get the gist of what was said.....
  12. Well that was 40 years ago. I know they were both red......

San Bernardino. Too far for me also. 70-75 miles or so.

I use hose removal pliers. The only time I've ever cut them is when I'm removing the hoses from the top of the injectors. (not the side that connects to the fuel rail). I like method two from the link that John posted.

You'd have to make a bracket for the compressor and the hoses would have to be custom made. Not sure that the condenser would fit though I've used 280ZX condensers in S30s.
  16. In 1970, I bought the only brand new car I've ever owned. A 1970 240Z-HLS3000488, 110 red. I traded it in for a 72, also 110 red. I sold that one in 1975 and, although I owned several other Datsuns, I didn't own another S30 until I bought the 1978 that I owned from 1997 to about a year ago. With me, it's not so much tha the Z is special. More so that the Datsun is special. As life turns out, I presently don't own one but I'm always on the lookout.

It might actually run okay. They used that manifold on some of the non US Datsun/Nissan sedans with L engines. And a 38 Weber is probably bigger than the carb they used.

I also invest but I don't and won't discuss that here. This is a car site. That's what I come here for.
  19. sblake01 replied to Daishi_GD's post in a topic in Open Discussions
Much easier to see and replace.
  20. sblake01 replied to Daishi_GD's post in a topic in Open Discussions
I've done it. That is, remove the rotor when I had cars that had rotors.
  21. I changed all of those including to one behind the clutch when I bought my 78 in 1997. No problems at all over the following 12 years. I sold it last year. On a totally unrelated note, when I read the title of this thread, I can't help thinking of the song "DID YOU EVER SEE A DREAM WALKING?" (that will date me!!)
  22. I'm not doubting what you say, I'm just saying that when I looked it up in the Nissan Fast program it showed different part numbers. Kind of a FWIW thing......
  23. sblake01 replied to nismozx720's post in a topic in Help Me !!
5 US Quarts w/fitler, and even though the 78 owners manual says 4 3/4, I'm sure they're all the same. I always used 5 qts in my 78.
  24. Not according to Nissan....they show different part numbers.
  25. 11059-P7600 (5 ea.) for the long ones and 11056-P7600 (9 ea.) for the short ones according to Nissan Fast.
