  1. That's what I was thinking. I'm not a fan of the BRE livery except for Ron Carter's cars. On a street car it doesn't add anything to the value IMO.

I don't think you actually can program that. You can program the station postiions. The call letters show because your unit has some type of radio station tag sofware built in.

Many modern units have a programmable message. Mine does that. (It reads "2005 Pontiac GTO")

One by one, those guys seem to be dissappering. The Z shop I would go to when I didn't feel like doing the work myself closed a couple of years ago. Small shop in a rural area. The radiator shop that I used for almost 40 years also closed a couple years ago. Old guy, smoked a cigar, was always honest wit you. My exhaust guy doesn't do exhsust anymore, he builds karts. Went to Junior High (I guess that would be middle school now) and High School with him. The only auto electric shop I really trusted closed about 10 years ago. Sign of the times, I guess.
  5. I guess he'd need those sounds to compare them to whatever he's done. Remember, he has a modified intake track wihich is different than what is out there. It likely wouldn't sound the same:)
  6. Is it really worth nearly $11K? Like Adam said, all I see is a basic driver with a new paint job.
  7. I'm not sure what one has to do with the other. I'm still trying to figure out what you meant a couple of years ago when you said:
  8. Still smoking after all these years!!!!!
  9. When I posted in this old thread on 03-07-2008, I knew where my dealership directory was. Today... I have no clue...
  10. Torvick Datsun was in Santa Rosa, Ca.

Not sure but I'll bet it would be worth even more to to owner of HLS30-00517.
  12. It's a website and, as such, a public place. Is it up to those in this public place to determine that a person's view needs to be challenged? Or set some kind of standard, so to speak? Not saying that I disagree with your assessment, I'm just not sure that that's anyone's role here. Many times, it's just misunderstanding. You and I have experienced that with each other. Correcting the misinformation/misunderstanding, yes. Challenging the viewpoint, not sure about that. That's where the arguments and this preception of rudeness begin. Because it is just a preception. We don't know enough about each other deal effectively with such things.
  13. If you could just do it wthout editorializing(which is really not your strong suit regardless of what you may think-look at some of the reactions you get). Now, I really am done here....go on with your thread. Don't waste the time to answer me.
  14. Well, in that case, you should have just bought the kit and coated them. You really didn't need the thread. You already know it all..........done here!~

I doubt that there would ever have been an "Official Black S30Z thread" unless it was about the 1978 Black Pearl Edition.
  16. Since you would argue with a sign, let me remind you that Enigma said "if the parts had not been plated originally" they would be in much worse shape than what you're probably seeing with the majority of your fasteners.
  17. LOLLOLLOLLOLNo, Dave, you've simply encountered one of those cases where they just don't have any effect.
  18. Why bring this back?
  19. Steve beat me to it but I just wanted to verify that since I once bought the 75-76 ones when I was changed them out on my 78 and had to return them for the correct, more expensive ones.
  20. That's the Pertronix kit. You don't need points. The magnet and pickup in the kit replaces them.

    .....................
  22. Maybe I'm just lucky but I never had a problem with an E12-80 dist. I owned my 810 for 6 years and it had the one the was in it when I bought it. I even carried a spare module in the glove box but I never had to use it.
  23. Those keys (in the first post-large pic) are the same as the OEM keys for the 1979 810 coupe I had. They were either KEY00-00055 or KEY00-00056, I forget which.
  24. I had seen that one before on another site. We get them from time to time. Not so much on this site but enough so on others I'm on that I recognize the names when I see them.
  25. But your link is pretty useless here......
