Some of the comments I've read thus far and in other similar discussions seem to indicate how difficiut an undertaking assembling that book/document would be. It would be just as subject to conjecture/discussion as the judging rules themselves.
  2. Now, that's where it becomes problematic for me. You can't compare the internet with real life/public contact, etc. That's why stuff like the 'my wife washing the car/my Z' example or the 'how you treat your next door neighbor' example also doesn't work for me. If they were the same do you think anyone here would really have to debate what's rude? You may perceive a comment on a site as rude but you really don't/can't know the intent of it's author. You can't look them in the eye, see their facial expression, body language, etc. It's a different type of interaction, and really, rather anonymous. With the possible exception of the handful of people here that I've actually met, the simple reality is that I don't know any of you, nor you I.
  3. Ah, back on topic! It's a 73 w/71K miles. My heart says more but reality says $15k-$17k.

    P.M. sent.
  5. with the last two posts. The same points are made in these posts as were made by me in the '13' thread just in a more diplomatic fashion.

Try a little WD40 on a rag. I've used that method to remove the left over adhesive after removing an emblem, tree sap, etc. Doesn't hurt the paint.

Pretty sure I have a TPS or two but no terminal block. Let me know if you're interested.

I'm not suggesting not to buy them if you like them. I did state 'IMO' and I even apologized prior to the comment in an attempt not to ruffle any feathers....I guess that failed!
  9. Thank you, Rob.
  10. None of the three Z's that I've owned ever stranded me, believe it or not. Other than having to change a flat tire on the 78. Oh, I do have a few 'stranded' stories, a couple that even involve Datsuns, but nothing about the Z.

Not sure that I get your post...are you looking for hood vents or are you the one selling those? If so, I apologize for the upcomming comments. Those aren't OEM (duh!) and don't look as good as OEM, in fact, they look ricey (IMO) and only fit a 77-78 hood. But, like I said, I might have missed the purpose of this post.

You know, I'm sorry to have to say this because I don't like where it could likely end up, but he needs to just put his 'big man' pants on and deal with it. That's what the rest of us do. Many things are said on this (and other) sites. I don't have a clue what the intention/frame of mind/demeanor or whatever of the person that says it is. I've been caught up in this sort of thing on both sides from time to time on this site. Either you can speak you mind or you can't. I'm tired of having to be so guarded with my responses. Doesn't work well for me. Some things are acted upon and others are let go.
  13. pdf copies are also good for being able to access and print out just the sections/illustrations/etc. that you need.

Like I said in the other thread, I get the feeling that Rick spews this stuff out just to get a reaction. No one could be wrong so often about so many things to include repeating things that have already been questioned and, in some cases, convincingly corrected. I read it more for the entertainment than to gain any kind of knowlege.
  15. I think you two missed Ronaldo's point.....

You know, Rick, it's beginning to look like you do this just to see the reaction it gets................

When did Ben (v12horse) post that? I haven't seen nor heard from him in at least two years, maybe three.

Not wanting to seem obtuse but this thread was about a guy having to sell his car......4 1/2 years ago! And he (the original poster) hasn't posted on this site in almost 4 years!

g9m3c, I don't think you're 'getting it' but that's okay. This is so far off topic now that it really doesn't matter whether or not you approve of a person's intent mainly because you're not reading it right. You kind of being b.s.'d as I was way back about 4 1/2 years ago in this thread. Besides, Rick deserves whatever he gets. He's the one that awakened the thread after 4 1/2 years seemingly to 'impress us with his knowlege'. It ain't working for me, by the way. When you 'stumbled upon' these comments did you go all the way back in the thread? I doubt it because if you did, you likely would have just let it go. Now to quote Mick Hucknall (Simply Red) "That's all I've got to say."
  20. No skills here but something like this?
  21. Face it, most old Datsuns regardless of country have been totally abused and mistreated by owners. To us, they are classics, to most others they are/were just cars.
  22. And this like will take you directly to a 1976 280Z FSM: http://www.xenons30.com/files/FSM/76_datsun_280z.zip

You can open up the head where it's filled in, install the eccentric and use the mechanical fuel pump. I've done this mod a few times in the past.

Look in section EF on page EF-16. There is a description of the Air Regulator. There is a electronic test for it on page EF-24 and a functional test for it on page EF-58.

Your link didn't work (for me) but your first scenario is correct. Closed when cold, open when above 134F.
