Can't find brake part
Part 41140-P6500 is superseded by 41140-P6525 according to nissanparts.cc. That doesn't guarantee the availability but the fact that it's superseded is usually a good sign.

Ugh looking for a new Z car
I think it really depends on where the car has been rather than whether it's a 240-260-280. Rust is rust. There all over 30 years old.

Happy Finals week, here's a broken window!
So, it was just random vandalism? No theft? Someone came through the area where I live a month or so ago and randomly broke windows on about 8 or 9 cars, no theft, just vandalism. Only on the street, however, not in the driveways so our cars were spared. I've got a window I'd send you but it sounds like you have it covered and a 280z window probably wouldn't work anyway.

Can the Idle Mixture be adjusted?
It can be done by adjusting the bypass screw in the AFM but you have to have some type of exhaust gas analizer to read the adjustments.

Rice Season 2009
Interesting take but I'm not talking about political correctness or anyone laughing at anyone. I'm not asking you to 'walk a mile in my shoes' but at least try to understand where those shoes have been. I've addressed this sort of thing with him and so far he chooses not to answer. This time and on other occaisions. That's fine, he knows how I feel and that that hasn't changed. I don't need anyone else to tell me how I should feel or what's okay and what isn't in this area. That's all I was trying to accomplish with my comments. It's really between he and I. That's also fine as I don't expect I'll change his point of view anymore than he'll change mine. You're right, life is too short. All I was trying to do was make a point to TomoHawk (again) whether he gets it or not and move on. I promise that's the last thing I'll say about it.

Rice Season 2009
Well, they aren't to me. Did you read my PM? If so, answer me there, not here. I don't wish to air it out here, that doesn't work.

Rice Season 2009
TomoHawk, you have a PM. My explaination is there if you care to read it.

I'm scared
I did say 'under normal conditions' but I should have added that I was referring to street driven cars.

MEXMOBILE?????? Surely, even you TomoHawk, can exercise better judgement in your posts than that!:stupid::stupid::stupid:

I'm scared
A couple of things. First of all, since the thread is nearly 7 years old so I truly hope any problems that were presented in it have been solved. Second of all 50/50 antifreeze-water mix gives the best cooling in my experience. Having tried most all of the other additives available over the years, it always comes back to water and antifreeze doing the best job under normal conditions. The key being what you said. ("If your cars cooling is in good shape"). I've run extensive tests with straight water also and you'd be surprised how quickly rust begins to form in an engine. So, straight water is something not even worth considering. Who did you 'hear' this from?

Original keys...............
Mike, he's looking for factory blanks, not aftermarket.

More CL buffoonery
Rare aluminum Z rims? It just looks like a 280Z to me.

York A/C and refrigerant charge
He charged his with a 30 lb. cylinder. When you say 'bottles' do you mean cans? Depending on the size it would take two to three cans depending on whether they're 12oz. or 16 oz. Roughly the weight I mentioned in post #2.

York A/C and refrigerant charge
Haven't worked with a York for a while. Your pressures sound like they're in the ballpark. I usually go for about 34-36 psi on the low side with R12 (or equivalent) which would yield slightly higher high side than you show. Generally that ends up being about 1.9-2.1 lbs. I weigh the can before and after the charge. If you're getting 24 deg. at the evap, that's okay as long as the compressor is cycling to prevent ice from forming. In my experience, those compressors are louder and do run rougher tnan a rotary type compressor.

David Carradine found dead
Come on, he also did 'Yellow Book' commercials.

David Carradine found dead
True but as Michael Jackson had his 'Thriller', Shatner had his 'Star Trek', and even Datsun had it's 240Z, you'd have to admit that if Kung Fu wasn't his flagship role, it would be very high on the list.

David Carradine found dead
Carl, i was going to say 'you know that's not what I meant' but I know how the written word can be. Preference??? The story that is emerging is even more odd.

Draining Engine Coolant
14mm? As I recall, it takes a 22mm socket to remove it

David Carradine found dead
He hasn't played that part for what, over 30 years? Could be part of the reason why he hung himself? I hope they find some kind foul play because I don't have much sympathy for people who commit suicide.

So... Whats your beer? ID's Checked at the door.
You obviously mean the Coors Light Silver Bullet......

Startin Issue - any ideas?
It's possible but I never experienced that with my 78 in the 12 years I owned it. Hopefully you don't have a problem with that. It's one of the most expensive items on the car; if you could find one.

Brake Calipers no longer avail. through Nissan
I thought the shims were seperate. Might even have a set or two extra somewhere in the garage. I bought all that stuff including the calipers about a year or so ago so the guy who bought my car has basically new brakes with about 850 miles on them.
