Planning to be a repeat owner w question for group
I know what the ad says but that is more likely a late 260Z-280Z aftermarket unit. It's the same one that's in my car and I don't see it fitting under a 240Z dash.

I've seen them mounted just about anyway you could imagine. Technically they were not 'dealer installed' but dealer authorized. They basically contracted out the AC shop that was local to the dealer and had them installed by the shop. That accounts for the lack of consistency in mounting styles. Yours likely doesn't work since I don't see a belt on the compressor. At best, those systems were mediocre. Inefficient compressor and a heating/ventilation system not really designed for AC. They can be made to work better with a compressor, condenser, and blower motor change but will never be as good a system with a center mounted evaporator

My 240z project
Looking good. Is that Morris Minor in the background yours also?

280z console in a 240z
The 'off to top of my head' answer is no. Not without modification. You'd run into issues where it meets the dash right off the bat but I'm sure you'd run into others.

Stupid TIP!
I did not know that.

find of cars datsun 240k 1973 or 1977
Every now and then, someone from the middle east comes to this site asking the same question. The answer is always the same. No one has found a LHD Skyline/240K through this site that I am aware of in the 6+ years I've been here.

Then you are basically looking in the wrong place. Datsun/Nissan didn't send LHD Skyklnes/240Ks the USA or Australia/New Zealand and I would say that the largest percentage of the members here are from those areas.

Hood Emblem Fell Off!!
If you use the right product, it will. I use 3M Automotive Acrylic Attachment Tape Part No. 051131. I also use their preperation products, All Purpose Cleaner, Prep Solvent followed by an alcohol wipe before installing. Though not necessary for mounting emblems, I've used their Adhesion Promoter before using the tape to mount flairs and spoilers, trim, etc. without ever having one come off unless I wanted it off. You actually have to use a heat gun (carefully) to remove the part without pulling off the paint.

Buying 1977 280Z 2+2
True mileage would be tough to find without service records being kept by the previous owners. I do know that it has passed it's smog test five of six times over the last 12+ years from Nov. 1996-October 2008 except for one time where it hadn't been smogged for 5 years (2003-2008). You can check that kind of thing out at http://www.bar.ca.gov/applications/VehTests/PubTstQry.aspx.

Tomohawk, I don't know how you come to some of the conclusions that you come to. Every generation has it's influences. That's all I'm going to say. Like you said, it's just your opinion and no one really needs to hear my opinion of your philosophies (again).

Parts Store Fun
That's how it is at the dealer I go to. The guys that know have been around since the Datsun days. When they retire, they seem to take the knowledge with them.

Parts Store Fun
Same here, there are a couple of guys at Nissan of San Bernardino that are pretty knowlegable on the old Datsun stuff.

I think those came out the same year as the Epson HX-20 which I think was 1980 with the Timex Sinclair 1000 coming out a couple of years later.

So you reinstalled the EFI. I remember that the car had carbs but also had an intact EFI harness. Must have been challenging to chase down the parts and info to accomplish that.

Old? My Epson HX-20 might have preceded your Timex by a year or two.

I think I know that car. Perhaps I have seen it at one of the local Japanese car shows or Datsun shows.....I know I've seen it. ZCCIV Show in 2007? Temecula? Was that you parked next to my 320?

Widest Tires for my Rims
I shoud have noted in my comment (#15) that I was basically referring to the front being the area where you'd most likely run into problems with anything larger than a 22560.

timing kit from inner fire engine parts
Here is the eBay listing. The picture looks generic. I'm not certain that one kit could really fit all of the applications listed.

Cylinders not working after su conversion
My apologies Chris. I thought those comments were directed at me.

Cylinders not working after su conversion
What's not to understand? Perhaps the simplest carb ever produced next to motorcycle carbs. Do you understand the EFI function?

Pomona Swap meet.
Well that would depend on how much time you spend at each. I have visited them seperately and spend hours at each but I don't have the distance factor that you do.

Cylinders not working after su conversion
I apologize for throwing in that rather moot comment. It was meant to be tonge-in-cheek not derisive. Actually, I'm only a proponent of EFI systems on vehicles that were originally equipped with it. Do you have access to a tool like a Uni-syn or Color Tune? I've used both of those in the past to assist in balancing carbs.

Cylinders not working after su conversion
Carbs are so much easier that EFI. Right?

Pomona Swap meet.
That's about 40 miles farther west in Los Angeles but the NHRA Museum is right there.
