datsun junkyards in SO CAL??
I live in San Bernardino and there are 9 self service type junkyards within 40 miles of my location, not to mention the full service types. These are not 'Datsun' junkyards but junkyards in general.

BRE 510 on Ebay ?
Only if they beileve Mr. Kohs's B.S. Where is the documented history that Carl speaks of? All I see are, as Alan pointed out, are a bunch of do-dads, many of which I have, and this man's story that two very credible people with more than just casual knowledge on the subject have refuted.

The other end of the w/b wire goes to the relay on the back of the speedometer.

Subwoorfer Location
I hear ya. I have a 12" Kenwood in the back of my 78 but the gain on my amp is only turned up about half way. And I seldom turn the system volume up beyond 1/3 to 1/2. It's not about having that 'thump-thump, doof-doof' sound so that everyone around you can hear it.

78 280z 2+2 bcdd wiring
The wire from the BCCD plugs into the white/black stripe wire in the harness in front of the left shock tower below the coil. Sounds like you need to get an FSM because facing the front of the engine, there is nothing to the right of the temperature sensor since it is the one on the right. Left to right, thermotime switch, thermal transmitter (single wire), temperature sensor.

Waterpump leak -how long?
I'd wait as once they start leaking they only get worse. Consider the hassle of replacing a blown head gasket!

New Rubber!
Having taken the liberty of checking your profile, I see you have a 78, as do I. The rubber duct that goes between the AFM and the air cleaner assembly (16577-N4201) and the one tha goes between the AFM and the throttle body (16578-N4710) are both still available at Courtesy Nissan for $31.85 and $41.20 respectively. They've gone up a bit since I purchased mine in 2001.

boiling out radiator
It does have that 'Cappuccino' look that usually denotes oil mixed with coolant.

Friendly reminder-Check your bumpers!
I agree with =Emigma=. Must be a high salt content in the air where you live or somewhere where that car has been. I took mine apart while my car was being painted, and they didn't look as bad as those. I lightly wire brushed the inside and painted it with a couple of coats of silver Rustoleum. That was almost ten years ago and they still looked good last year when I removed them.

aluminum radiator for daily driver
You know, now that I think about it, I looked at the Modine at a local radiator shop but didn't buy it. My radiator is an NOS one that I bought from OEM Surplus a little over two years ago but I doubt if he would have any more.

How many miles does you 76 have on it? My 78 has had two radiators in it's lifetime (roughtly 99K miles). The one that was in it when I bought it in 1997 which was never changed by the PO and the one I put in it in 2005 which was a new 'Modine' brand an it hasn't shown any problems so far.

Pic request of Butterscotch Z's....... And our pix. Take a look!!!!!
Actually, Keith's user name originally had the apostrophe but it caused some kind of problem in the chat room or something like that so he dropped it. He still posts on HybridZ. I don't think I've 'seen' him here in over two years. But, back to the present. Welcome 2ManyZ's (the new one). Impressive collection of automobiles! I'm also on the 'don't change the color' bandwagon. That color is part of the uniqueness of the era.

Extended Oil Life Guidelines - 7,500miles
My wife's Chevy HHR was purchased last July. It monitors the 'oil life' in percentage left. It had reached 10% about two weeks ago but I changed it anyway because I couldn't stand it any longer. 6550 miles and it still showed that it had more 'oil life' left.

Toyota 2000GT on UK EBay
It's currently at just a shade under $60K USD.

automatic transmissions
As far as I know, the 77 and the 83, as well as any 6 bolt L series crank, be it 4 or 6 cylinder, would use the same spacer

Toyota 2000GT on UK EBay
If my calculations are correct, the present high bid translates to about $25K USD with a couple of days to go. I suspect that it will go for a lot more than that!

Check out this thread, it might help as far as the interchangeability. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22226

56, I'll be 57 on July 1.

If I recall correctly, there's a spacer that goes between the flexplate and the crankshaft. If that's missing, it would cause the problem you describe. I'm not too familiar with auto trans interchangeability in Z's however.

Wiring Connectors, can they be replaced?
Here's a link to one of the discussions on injector/cold start/temp sensor/etc. connectors. Now, I'm going to bed:sleepy: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22929&highlight=BMW+connectors

Wiring Connectors, can they be replaced?
I've replaced many of the connectors on both my 78 280Z and my 79 810. We've done a thread or two on the subject in the past. DeOxit and the like won't do a damn bit of good if the connectors are brittle and falling apart like many of these 30ish year old connectors are. (I can't see his posts anyway). If I find the thread I'll link to it in the morning.
