  1. I've got most of those. The 26 and the Sun Star have the "D" caps though there never was a black 240Z, I have the Z33 because it was cheap ($10 at Costco), the two Kyosho's are the most detailed though the 240 has the 'Fairlady' hubcaps.
  2. I'm sure he will when he gets one.

Jim Wolf Technology used to modify them but other modifications to the sensors, switches, etc. were also necessary.
  4. I think we did this in a front page poll sometime ago. I paid $275 for my 78 seven years ago and it was a great deal.
  5. Looks like a Maisto or Road Signature. Still not as detailed as the Kyosho. But the Kyosho costs about twice as much:
  6. I don't know, plastic or fiber + heat....... From a similar thread last year: .
  7. What causes the copper washers to seep is that sometime in the past the plug was installed without the washer creating gouges in the mounting surface. As long as that has never been done the copper washer will seal fine. I change them with about the same frequency as Chris.
  8. The Franlin Mint 240Z is 1/24. The best detailed 1/18 240Z I've ever seen is the Kyosho.

I don't see the so-called 'Fuel Injection Bible' from Atlantic Z on that list.

In which case you probably ruined an original antenna that your previous owner couldn't get to operate with the aftermarket radio. I'll bet the three contact plug for the antenna is still behind your console in which case all you would have had to do is plug in the correct switch and it would have worked. After pulling it up with pliers, however, I think it's done.
  11. The only thing I'm going to say to that is; you really don't get, it do you? Don't answer me directly because I don't wish to debate a point I didn't try to make. I just gave my opinion of you overall approach here just like you give your opinion (often too, I might add) and it has nothing to do with the subject matter at hand at all. I don't come here to debate so your opinion of me, that is if you're lumping me in with all the other 'Americans' doesn't mean squat and neither does mine of you. Pose questions, use the answers you can and forget the rest. It's pretty simple. Even for you. Oh, sorry, I guess that would also be an opinion. OUT......
  12. They speak the truth. It's really hard to watch the amazing twists, turns, and off-topic tangents that this guy adds to any thread, whether or not it's one he started, without responding. I hope you do!

I'm glad it worked out for you. I do most of the work on my cars myself but Elvan and Mario have always been fair with me and I have been satisfied with the work they've done for me in the past. He replaced the heater core in my Z about 6 years ago, did the timing belt in my wife's Sentra and and the 100k mi service on her Infiniti J30 (I'd be very leary of opening up a VG30DE!). I have called them for lots of advice over the years, however. They always give advice that leads me in the right direction rather than saying "bring the car in and we'll inspect it" like most shops do. Randy is located in Southern California, about 30 or so miles west of me where it was about 80 degrees earlier this week. I too was out in my Z.
  14. If the non op fees have been paid to the DMV for each year that registration fees would have been due, you'd only have to pay the transfer fee and use tax.

I play the sax and once bought a shirt from them that said "Liscensed Sax Therapist" and it faded the first time I washed it. What they sell is expensive cleaning rags!

I made the 1/8 mile comment but as Jon pointed out, he most likely meant 0-60 in 6 sec. I hadn't really considered how quick a 6 sec eighth mile car would be since I'm more accustomed to 1/4 mile times.

Those are the only manuals I've ever seen there. TnA meas temporarily not available. Try it at another time.

Try here for a manual. If it's not available for download, go back again at another time and try it. http://carfiche.com/manuals020/cars/
  19. Not to mention that it will also shorten what's left of it's life. I've been trying to impress that on my son for a couple of years now. Wait a minute, did TomoHawk and I just agree on something?:classic:

That's fair. You're 'bad mouthing' it for the right reasons.

Strokers can be done with injection. To quote Steve Golik (zcarnut) from another site: Not mentioned here but I would assume he also used the ZX turbo injectors.

Bruce, I too apologize. The 'out of business' statement was more tounge in cheek than anything else. I just don't like to see the EFI system put down for the wrong reasons. It's an antiquated system, yes, but realisticly, so are S.U.'s. That's really all I was trying to say. I actually find the EFI system simple to understand. This 'reliability issue' is something I've never really had to deal with. I guess that puts me in the minority. I have used your carbs in the past and I've not come across anywhere else that does the fine job that you do with them and I wasn't attempting to undermine what you do in any way.
  23. sblake01 replied to MC75Z's post in a topic in Carburetor Central
I've been doing that for the last ten years and I have EFI. I know you're in the business of selling carbureators but there is no need to repeat other people's bad mouthing of the EFI system. People who don't understand the system or don't know how it works or don't have the desire to learn, see carbs as a way out. I don't. I've worked with both (SU's and EFI) and they both have their plusses and minuses. Without proper knowlege and maintainence, carb systems can leak and their components can become degraded just like EFI. So what? If SU's were so much better than EFI and never suffered the problems that they do, you'd be out of business. I'm not saying that one is better than the other. It's all just a matter of personal opinion.

A minor tune up should do it for you as the carbed cars aren't quite as complex as the EFI cars. I don't know what the range should be for a 240/260 but for a 280Z with an automatic trans., the mileage as stated by Nissan in the brochure is 17 city-23 highway. That translates to about 290 to 390 miles with the 17.125 gallon 280Z gas tank.
  25. sblake01 replied to RWD415's post in a topic in Help Me !!
Well, since he's talking about an EFI engine, there are so many variables here. You need to troubleshoot the entire system. Go here and download and read through this: http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/efisystem/280zfuelinjectionbook.pdf Quotes like the following always leave me scratching my head.:stupid:
