I remember reading that in the FSM when I needed to replace the hoses on my 78 and got to thinking. . .soldering iron=heat+fuel :paranoid:. Instead I used an exacto like Will said and have used that method the other couple of times I had to replace injector hoses. I wasn't sure if it would work but each time I did one it became easier. I just really didn't like the idea of applying heat.

By 'bumper' I'm sure you mean license plate.

After viewing what's been said here, and assuming that you are planning to keep the FI, use an FI head. I don't know if anyone has ever modified a E88 head for the factory FI but it sounds costly.

Maybe a little off-topic but does any manufacturer currently offer vinyl tops? I don't recall seeing any car built in recent years with one. Maybe my mind just blocks them out. Never did like them on anything, Z or otherwise.

The main reason that so many cars are FWD now is that production cost is lower than RWD. It has been my experience that FWD cars are more difficult and more expensive to maintain. There are problems that come up on a FWD car that are nonexistant on a RWD car. I have vowed never to own another FWD car. That's just my preference.

There are different cups depending on the transmission you have. Make sure you use the right one.

Would that be a mass air flow sensor? I've heard of it being done. It would require more sophisticated engine managment that the early Z has. Let us know if you get it working.

The good doctor died in 1996 but his legend lives on. I was bored yesterday so I did a little test. (No LSD involved other than the differential ) I jacked up my 810 (open diff) and tested it and it responded just like yours, although I couldn't get it to do the 'somtimes niether.' I then jacked up my wife's J30 (viscous limited slip R200) and both wheels spin in the same direction when you turn either one.

I would also add that while you're in there, replace the hoses with fuel injection hose as they will last longer than regular fuel line. That is unless a 240 requires specially formed hoses.

Some photo programs have the option to change other formats to .jpg. When I have a chance I'll look through mine and let you know which ones will do that. My wife is in the hospital and I've been doing a lot of running back and forth between home and there so my time on the computers is somwhat limited of late. (She's okay, routine surgery, and she should be coming home this evening)
