What do you do for a living?
Let's see if I remember the degrees. B.S.-we all know that one, M.S.-more of same, and PhD-piled higher and deeper. I, however, have a B.A.

I worked 34 1/2 years in 'perishable commodities merchandising.' Okay, okay, I'm a retired grocery clerk. I now work 2 to 4 days a week as the receiving clerk at ACE Hardware just for something to do as my wife won't be retiring for a few years yet.

Cheap 240Z
They never were imported to the US. That's why it would be cool. The 810 is as close as we got to a Skyline. I would own a Skyline or a Silvia if I could find a good one.

Cheap 240Z
I'd have to disagree, Bill. Especially if you had a Skyline in the US. I think that would be very cool.

Datsun Alloy Rim
And I'd have to add shipping. I do feel like I got a good deal. But it's all relative. Could have been even cheaper if I had bought the two I saw in the junkyard a year ago. :stupid:

Would you pay $3M for this?
In a museum or a collection, hammer marks and dents may be signifigant, but on the streeet, they're just hammer marks and dents.

No the kids are already working on that. :classic:

I enjoy my four grandkids. They're a lot of fun and unlike your own kids, you can send them home when you get tired of them!

One and the same person. He was involved with Ford and Shelby prior to his involvement with Datsun. I actually met him in the early '70s at his shop in El Segundo, Ca. back when I had my first 510.

Reproduction JDM headlight covers with trim
I guess we'll have to remove them and clean them every now and then like the cheap, rubber edged things I have on my car now. Anything would be an improvement over those and for $200 I would go for them. For $750-800... no!

Help! cleaning fuel lines.
And a f.i. tank is more complicated. It can't be cleaned by just putting some kind of solution in it. The longer it sits the worse it gets. It either has to be professionally cleaned (i.e. opened up, cleaned and rewelded) or replaced. There are no short cuts here. I seem to remember mentioning that to Datsun-Fever way back when he first got the car.

Headlight retaining rings chrome or S/S?
DOH! :stupid:

Headlight retaining rings chrome or S/S?
Chrome according to the 1973 Datsun Comp catalog and it also says chrome in all the later Datsun Comp and Nissan/Datsun Comp catalogs. The catalogs that are named 'Nissan Motorsports Parts' do not show a picture nor do they specify chrome or s.s. I have seen them in stainless, however.

Help! cleaning fuel lines.
Check the tank or have it checked at a shop. There are baffles in the tank on a fuel injected car that can trap all kinds of crud build-up that forms while the car is sitting. You can clean fuel lines, replace fuel filters, etc. all day long. If your tank is bad, you'll keep pulling this $hit into the rest of your fuel system. Trust me, been there done that.

L28 flattops...how much are they worth?
We stopped getting Patrols in the US before the L28 came out. What year Patrols had the L28?

Help! cleaning fuel lines.
When I bought my 78 in 1997 it had been sitting for four years. The gas tank was toast and had to be replaced. All of the symtoms you describe seem to point in that same direction. My car would start and more or less idle but when you gave it gas it died. Had your car been sitting long when you purchased it?

Oil Pressure Woes?...
[/quote=EricB]... but I may just pull the engine this weekend and go look inside... Eric B did! Don't do it! Check the sending unit and guage first.
