Putting 82 Rear disc'c on a 77
80 to early 81. After that, the brackets were not bolt on.

California Mille photos
I have seen many of these cars on Alan De Cadenet's program 'Victory By Design.' What a tough job that man has! He gets to drive around the British countryside in some of the most pristine historically signifigant European sports cars.

Rear Disc Conversion
The trick is to look for the late 80 early 81 Maxima since all the rear brake stuff on those cars unbolts rather than having to be cut off.

what's happening to my engine!!!!!
Good call, Carl! I first discovered that about 30 years ago on my 510. That '11:25 o'clock' thing in most of the books is crap! You can get them to run that way but when set at your 'right' view, you have the full range of timing adjustment. I had forgotten about that because it's been a while since I've pulled an oil pump.

An Odd Ball
Those do look like Mustang louvers. They don't quite have the correct angles for the Z hood. And as far as that grille . . . . oh well, as long as the owner likes it!

How's your Thermo-coupling (Fan clutch)?

Lots of Z-part!!!!!
I would say forget it! The guy was from Alaska, it was his one and only post and it was in October of 2002! Let it go.

260Z 2+2 Convertible On Ebay Australia
Sorry guys. Convertible Zs don't impress me. It takes away the uniqueness of the design. Whatever the price is it's too much. I don't care who does the conversion the car was not designed to be a convertible! No matter how fancy it comes out, it's just another hacked up Z.

Looking to buy a car off ebay for parts!
In a word, NO! A 79 is a ZX.

G-nosed 280...
The most identifiable part of the 'ZZap' package is missing. Where are the stripes that went on the side, hood, roof, and deck? Or the rear window louvers?. As far as the bumper that Lachlan mentions, that's what belongs there as well as a matching front bumper. That's what makes it a 77. With the G-nose you end up with mis-match bumpers and a non vented hood. Here's a scan of the ad: (Oh, and Carl, note the VIN in my signature on the 78. It's a US market 5spd)

Interesting...
I wonder why it's gone? There's still a week to go on the auction and there was no 'buy it now' option.

Will 76 heater controls fit a 78?
I know that 77 and 78 are the same because I have a 77 heater control in my 78. I'm just not sure about 76 and 77. I do remember one thing when I was looking for a replacememt. If you have FACTORY air you must use a heater control form a car that has factory air. I you have DEALER INSTALLED air or no ac you must use the non ac heater control. Factory air in the 280Z would say AC on the upper left position and dealer installed or non ac would say AIR in that position.

Interesting...
Wow! Over $30K and over 80 bids with more that a week left! Maybe there's more than one born every minute! ROFL

zreplacing Window Squeegees
No need to feel that way. As Gunnerrob says, 'one can never be too informed.' VB stands for Victoria British Ltd. They sell 70-96 Z parts as well as parts for Mazda RX7s and British sports cars. www.VictoriaBritish.com

WARNING vvortex3 BAD SELLER!
He's been suspended by EBay. EBay has a process to try and recoup your money but in many cases the deadbeat seller simply takes the money and runs leaving you and Ebay with no way to contact him. :disappoin

Dashpot
No tube attaches to the top of the dashpot. There is a white plastic cap that is usually broken or missing that screws on to the top of it. It's emission control related and supposedly reduces CO at idle. Only the manual trans cars had them. The FSM doesn't really get into much of a description of its function. It only talks about adjustment.

Original paint color of a 280
Most of us here wouldn't really have noticed since this site deals mainly with 70-78 Zs.

Spark plug gap on 280z?
The FSM says .039-.043 but they also add .028-.031 for Canada.
