I think you're missing the point.......
  2. Dude, the thread is two years old and the ad no longer exists on the site it was posted. I don't think anyone here would really be able to answer your question. No one really seemed to care about them (except Victor and he doesn't post here anymore). You will likely have to do your own research if you want to find these.

This is a link to a zipped pdf of the 1979 280ZX Factory Service Manual. What you're looking for is on page ET-10. http://www.xenons130.com/files/1979%20280zx%20FSM.zip
  4. The ones used on the 280Z are different from the ones used on the ZX, 810, et al. I've owned all three. The ones on the Z are taller and thinner, joined together by a common plug and in a metal bracket while the others are shorter and larger in diameter and screw into the top of the vacuum tank. You can pretty much only use the ones for a Z on a Z. They're not interchangable without a fair bit of fabrication.......
  5. I also connect my vacuum gun to them when testing. They should hold vacuum when closed and allow vacuum to pass through when under power. For testing purposes I carry a 9 volt battery with me. For switches, solenoids, etc. that will provide more than enough power plus I don't have to look for the junkyard's test battery.

That statement had to do with the 510........

Yeah, he has a 75 ITC 280Z and a 71 SCCA B Sedan 510 presently; I get that. I was just wondering about Jay's statement:

Jay, what is it that you are seeing in his post that I'm not?
  9. Same decal/sticker. One is on an oem cap the other is on a aftermarket cap.

  11. Better pic of another one:
  12. I remember seeing this BSR cam cover on HybridZ earlier this year. Bad picthre but it seems to have a similar cap:

Did you bleed them in the right order? (LR-RR-RF-LF) You could lose your brake pressure if the wheel cylinder leak is bad enough.
  14. After checking into it, the price I said was for a 75-78 280Z rack. They want more ($347) for a 260Z rack and it only comes with a 1 yr warranty. You'd do better with the one you linked to.
  15. O'Reilly's (Kragen) has them for $232.99 including the inner tie rods. They come with a lifetime warranty.

77-78 is a 280Z and 79 is a 280ZX. Different seats. Also, since your car is a ZX, if you're going to post in car specific areas, it should be in the 280ZX (S130) forums not the 240z, 260z, 280z (S30) forums.
  17. Aren't Wagner halogen headlamps just regular over the counter type replacements? I used Sylvania SiverStar headlamps in my 78, without an upgrade, for years with no problems. Most of the talk you hear and read about upgrading the wiring is aimed toward 240Zs. The wiring in a 78, though not earthshattering, was better than a 240Z stock vs. stock.
  18. sblake01 replied to Pomorza's post in a topic in Help Me !!
I'm not. I merely responded to "the FSM says" and the comments about Arizona vs. California temps. I never said why I used what I used; only that I used it.
  19. All I see is 8 red x's in white boxes........

I really don't think Tucson has much, if anything on where I live heat wise. We were at 100+ most of last week and that's fairly typical here this time of year. That chart says (to me) that any of the oils listed in the top two arrows as well as 80W-90, 90, or 140 gear lube would be acceptable in that type of climate. I ran 80W-90 gear lube because it does get below 40 here in the colder monts. I've had no lubrication related problems with either of them.
  21. sblake01 replied to Pomorza's post in a topic in Help Me !!
Okay, I looked again an again I saw the same thing I saw before and every other time I've looked at it. The charts are the same in both FSMs. What am I missing?
  22. sblake01 replied to Pomorza's post in a topic in Help Me !!
Look again. I ran 10W-40 in my Z and 810 the entire time I had them. The only wieght the FSM doesn't recommend is 5W-20 for sustained high speed driving.
  23. The 280ZX differential could be made to work but I'm afraid the suspension would have to be from another 75-78 S30.

That sounds like the water temperature switch what the 75 and 76 had. Has nothing to do with the engine fan as the fan is mechanical not electrical. I believe it's function was to operate the EGR solenoid. It might be a tough find as they're no longer in stock through Nissan as per a thread a couple years back. 22120-N4202 is the part number if that's of any help. If you search that number I'm sure a few threads on the subject will come up.
  25. The info so far is just enough to keep it confusing; 71 240/76 280, Pertronix/stock 76 EI, clockwise/counter-clockwise, smog pump/no smog pump, flip the oil pump/flip the distributor shaft.....so rather than adding to the mix with my take, I think I'll just sit back and watch.
