they are welded............and bolted to set them in at first........then glued, this glue is magnificant, car companies of magnitude of mercedes benz, bmx, audi, all use this stuff, its not week, plus we still welded it, its all there extra, for a demonstration they got a big glob of it and let it harden on a stick, and first put it in a 1500 degree oven, then laid it on a bench, and a person got a huge sledge hammer and beat it, and i mean a big guy doing this, and it didnt phase it at all, so its strong:) i wouldnt dare use it only though, even though it would probably hold, the fact there there is a metal binding makes me feel better:)
  11. God no, i plan on moving to the coast in a few years(norfolk) and im gonna take my 240sx with me, and when it is finished i will go get my z(ill travel on weekend to work on it:)0, i love my car, and with the work done by me, it is gonna be ment to be driven by me, i love my car, i couldnt imagine selling it just to move to the coast, and yours is especailly fine, and it looks as if you put alot of work into it, i say take it to the coast with you, and just take specail care of her. Imagine driving your z down along the water suring a summer sunset with the breeze blowing in the z............

i too used zedd findings....in our process of putting them in we bolted them in, put a few necessary spot welds, and then we glued them, yes glued them, see nowadays most car companies dont use welding to attach body panels, they use a type of glue, which i have access to through my father, so we laid it all the way around the pan, and then finished the welding, it feels solid as a rock, its not the best looking because of the bolts and such but hey, thats what carpets for, and atleast i know the floor wont cave in when i take it for its first ride..........in a few years.....
  13. no im thinking of vintage stuff, but i think i might just go with a black and aluminum mesh one from momo:)
  14. yes it is 3000 usd, i just converted it 1989-1990 180sx's and silvia k's got ca18det, the q's got ca18de 1991-1993 180sx's and silvia k's got sr20det, the q's got sr20de 1994-1998 180sx type x got the sr20det blacktop only 1995-1998 silvias got the blacktop sr20det with a hump on the fornt of the valve cover 1999+ silvias also got the blacktop with the hump in the middle, but also had the newer vvt and more horsepower and a 6 speed i like the conversion, i think the rear would look good with the 180sx "kouki" type x tailights shown here

get you a 240sx if you want a daily driver, they are fun cars and to tell you the truth, i think a 1989-1993 240sx fastback is more of a spiritual succesor to the orginal 240z than the 300zx is, as far as looks weight, and the fun to drive faster, i have both a z and an sx
  17. will 16x8s fit on a 240z without clearence issues of suspension and fenders etc... i can get them in in -1 offset, +12 offset, or +25 offset now here is the hard part the wheels im looking at are old school Advan Oni wheels, and i was wonering if they would clear MSA's 4 piston break upgrade in the front? here is a pic of them, and yes i know the blue lug nuts are ugley, but just look at the wheel:) here is a link to the webpage CLICK HERE!!!!!!!!! click on Advan than go to the "Oni" wheel

sr20det's have a huge amount of parts in the U.S. now. Since everyone is using them in 240sx's, they have an aftermarket abundunce, and when somehting breaks internally, there is one simple fix that you can do and buy in america......UPGRADE IT with an aftermarket part. i will have a sr20 powered s13 240sx before the end of this year...i cant wait to see how it does, because my 240z is lighter, and of course i would put more money into the z's motor, that might decide whether i go rb or sr
