  1. could someone post a few pics of the license plate light housing and the center trim section and how it is attached? mine is non-existent, and i need to know what to get. thanks all sb
  2. there was some talk about freezoff? (sp) does the same as heat, but with cold
  3. i am seriously considering a line lock https://www.summitracing.com/parts/huu-1745000/overview/ as a way to lock the rear brakes. if you put in a hidden switch and a small light on the dash, someone gets in the car and tries to drive off, the first time they hit the brakes, the rear brakes lock up and wont release. i even thought that maybe on on the clutch line if it could stop the clutch pedal from being pushed. what do you guys think? opinions please thanks all sb
  4. maybe this is a stupid question, but what is a "grapefruit alternator"?
  5. you might check this. it makes for a very bad ground connection
  6. i had to get the parking brake brackets at a wrecking yard. they are off some newer nissan. sorry, its been a while.from what i recall, i had to route the flexible brake lines between the brake cable and the bracket as seen in the photo directly above your post. if i remember to, ill take a couple more pics.
  7. not to be picky, but your hood pull handle is crooked im debating mounting mine vertical. it looks like it may hit the door panel with it horizontal
  8. Roland of Gilead. the dark tower series by stephen king. it means "understanding"
  9. thank you both! very helpful. i see some type of shielding from the steering shaft over the bell housing. was this for heat protection from the exhaust? thank you both
  10. i have some old seatbelts. i bet they would work. maybe fold in half length wise and sew them up
  11. could someone post a pic of the correct routing of the speedometer cable in the engine-bay, please? thanks all sb
  12. its a PGW window. it was $227 total installed, and i believe the labor was $90. so whatever the difference..........
  13. i am too. the more i think about it, the better it sounds.
  14. maybe this is your problem. the ground wire is just folded over the plastic, and the socket is pressed in. you can see the corrosion on the socket and the copper wire. corrosion doesnt make for good connections here is my solution, pull the socket out of the plastic housing and solder the ground wire to the socket. no problems now
  15. things are moving along nicely now new tunes. this deck is like brand new. $75 found a new windshield, Jeff from Novus Glass came out today, $227 installed, i had the new gasket. i highly recommend Novus, great people! steering wheel re-finished front dash trim painted and in after glass. this was kind of a PITA new mirrors came friday!!! got the door glass and new weatherstripping in today. all the bolts are powder-coated black. i like the black against the red more weatherstripping
  16. anyone know the size of the bolts that hold the tailights on a 72? thanks all
  17. why not just buy a non-catalyst sticker?
  18. this car didnt have much of the weatherstipping when i bought it, so im not exactly sure where all the new parts go. is this the correct spot for the hood-to cowl? and does this go at the back of the door between the window channel and door? thanks all sb
  19. things are finally starting to click. got the weatherstripping kit and have the 1/4 windows in also got the headliner and pillars done and the dash with all the wiring hooked up. a couple of minor glitches, but everything is working now
  20. looks nice. how did you get the steering wheel looking so good? i am trying to refinish mine right now.
  21. loose or corroded connections will cause voltage drop that could be part of the problem also. without the linkage connected, there is no load on the motor, so it will turn normally.
