  1. im not sure. brookings is down south coast (120 miles+/- as the crow fly's) and there is another about 40-50 miles east of here near glide
  2. site, thanks for the help. not trying to be a pita can you scan it with a ruler or something like a quarter next to the gasket? that would give me a size reference to work with. here is a scan of 2 dimes that i scanned and saved as a jpeg, then attach as a photo. it should print out to actual size
  3. my crack (parts) supplier finally got motivated. we towed it to my shop this morning so i can replace the passenger side floorboard, rails and the battery tray and then it is off for blasting and paint. here are a few before pics
  4. rolled back in this morning. stinks outside everything has a kind of orange glow
  5. a scan would be perfect im looking to print it out, cut along the lines and use it as a pattern. i found the spacers on ebay, but the want $30+ for 2. if i have a pattern, i can make all 6 for about $25
  6. i really dont want to pull a carb off the car yet. im going to make some phenolic spacers and i need a pattern
  7. it is a hornets nest attached to cedar tree limbs. i should have some nice pics tomorrow
  8. bingo! these are bald-faced hornets, and they have been steadily killing quite a few of my honey bees. the yellow-jackets like to get in the hive and feed on the larvae.
  9. not the actual gasket, but a actual size scan of the gasket (and a ruler next to it) that goes between a cannon intake and a weber dcoe 40. i need to make something, but dont want to order a complete gasket kit if i dont have to. thanks all
  10. found this yesterday about 10 feet from the clothesline. about 18" long. eradication is saturday mornings big adventure. wish me luck
  11. i dont see wheel studs, and the is some spacer? odd
  12. odd wheels https://eugene.craigslist.org/cto/d/1973-datsun-240/6269067425.html
  13. so you get hell and then summer and then back to hell?
  14. random thought random thought. after driving around the block, try opening the gas cap, is there a rush of air into the tank? heck, try driving without the cap. if the cap is bad, the tank may be in a vacuum not letting the pump do its job
  15. +1! i dont care what it is off of, i just want something that will fit the car, and the storage spot
  16. up until 2 hours ago, i couldnt see the ridge that is only 1/2 mile away because of all the smoke that has been hanging around for the past 3 weeks. life is good again
  17. it isnt that hard, but it is a PITA loosen the bolts for the driveshaft (leave the shaft in the trans to keep the oil in) and axles, remove the strap, front mount and the 2 nuts on the back cover. slide the diff toward the front of the car until the 2 studs clear, and then lower the diff down 1-no 2- it will make life easier. 3-see above after doing this 3-4 times, it isnt that bad
  18. if it works and doesnt leak, maybe it is the way it should be.
  19. rcb made an excellent suggestion. 1 thing at a time!
  20. switch the "bad" tire to the other side. if it is the tire, the hop will be wherever you put the bad tire
  21. my wife has an auto trans (no trouble yet), mine are stick. not much can go wrong with a stick shift
