both passanger and driver windows slip down after a while. i crank them back up but they come down again. has any one run into this before?

well i took it for a ride last night, and i adjusted the idol. it seems to be back to normal. it was not running right when i started tinkering. i think what was that problem was, when i accelerated coolant would come out the return line and squirt right on the distributor cap. well i fixed that hose, and started working on a tune up. and that is where i put the plugs wrong and had the wrong rotor on for that cap. so now when i go back to auto parts store i tell them to get me a 79 - 81 cap instead? i dont know if i am going to bother anyway beacuse i will be changing motors soon . tks for all your help

the manual i have does not have a diagram for sparkplug placement. it said there were to many models to put in the book or something. here is some pics of the dist.

ok so it turns out that the distributor has been changed. i got a cap and rotor for my z but the cap they gave me was the wrong one or so i thought. i didnt have time to go and get a new one so just used the new rotor and old cap. that is were the worst running z award comes from. i have a electronic dist. out of something else. that is why the caps are different. any idea what this distributer came from?:stupid:

why is the web site so slow today? anyway i did all the things you said and i just got it running . it sounds terrible . i might have got the plug wires messed up does any one know which way they should go? or any thing else that might be the problem?

can you feel suction on the line that goes the filter when you turn the car over?

i had a brain freeze and thought that the oil would come out when a took off the oil filter. i did have a thought isnt there something else i should be doing? na i said to myself. so now i have another problem i changed the fuel filter and now no fuel comes out. i there is nothing coming out of the hose. is the fuel pump messed up somehow?

i am doing an oil change on my 71 z. i took off the oil cap, and the filter and waited for the oil to come out and nothing happend. i checked the dip stick and it said there was lots of oil in there. any reason why it does not come out? i tried turning the motor over and it did nothing. any ideas? i dont want top put more oil in there if it wont come out.

does the intake manifold have a spacer on a 71 240z? mine has a black one about an inch thick. i have heard that you can get a bigger manifold from a 240k which requires a spacer. could it be possible that it is a 240k manifold?

did you do any better? i am about to do the same to my 71. what kind of numbers were you hoping for? are you going to get an after market management system. how much would that go for?

is the 390 a limited slip diff?

i do have two carbs i just forgot for a second and no i have not done a tune up lately. now with the fuel and air filters those are the regular ones right? are there filters in the carbs?
