@Captain Obvious I will be sure to reach out. I definitely plan on being there. @gnosez Thank you for the link, I was wondering about Larz Anderson, if there is a big turn out, I think I know what I am doing that weekend.
  3. Oh Excellent, I didn't know that. I assumed they were like newer rivets. I will go give that a try. Cheers!
  4. Update: I was able to removed the complete mast cable from the old antenna. My next dilemma is that I am afraid to remove the plastic interior panels. They are in good shape, but there is no give to them. I have nylon trim removing tools to minimize the damage, but I am not really sure where to begin. Anyone have an tips or suggestions? Thanks! ~Matt
  5. Hi Zup, Thank you for the confirmation and the link. I was fairly certain the antenna was a original to the car. I dismantled the the antenna with the faulty motor and it looks like the mast cable is intact. I am going to read the post you linked. Cheers! ~MattS
  6. Howdy, The Antenna mast for my 76 is non-functioning. The motor seems to be working but the mast won't go up. I purchased a donor antenna that has a faulty motor and was going to combine the two. Below is a picture of the antenna that is currently in the car. I've seen a few types of masts and was wondering if anyone can help me identify if this is the original mast for the car? The car was manufactured 9/75. Cheers! ~MattS
  7. I really like the updated look of the front end. Nice work! ~MattS

Hi Mark, Thank you for your kind words. I feel very fortunate to have located this car. I had looked on and off for years after driving one that was for sale some twenty years ago and not having funds at the time to purchase. I had plans to swap the bumpers and such, but have decided to keep it as is. I have the dealer installed alloy wheels in my shed, which are in fantastic shape, but decided for the 16 inch ones I have now. I created a post in the wanted forum which I will add too as I go through some of the spare parts I've acquired over the past year. Cheers! ~MattS

Howdy, I am looking for a couple parts for my 280Z. The original owner replaced the 4 speed transmission with a 5 speed from a 1978, so I am looking to purchase the factory correct shift knob. Also, I am looking for the plug that goes in the center console, see image below. I am also looking for the factory plastic door mirror. Mine has a great mirror, but the plastic housing is cracked. Please reach out if you have any of those. Cheers! ~MattS

Greetings Fellow Z enthusiasts! I've been lurking ever since I purchased my 76 280Z about this time last year. I figured it was high time I finalized my account and joined in. You have already been very helpful with various posts and how to articles. I really enjoy being a part of a dedicated and enthusiastic community of like minded individuals. Attached is a picture of my new (to me) toy. She is a 1976 model year 280Z (manufactured 9/75). This was a very well taken care of one owner car. Aside from a few unique touches the previous owner had installed she is a true survivor with original paint, motor and interior. I've been refreshing some wear and tear items with either new or used factory parts. I am on the look out for a few items and will likely travel to Carlisle PA next year. Not many parts to be had in New England. Cheers! ~MattS
