Car Cover Brands
What is the best car cover to use for outdoor use? I don't have a garage, and the car will be outside from mid May to early October. What brand would you guys recommend I invest in, and where should I buy it? Thanks

Besides the Zcar, what are your favorite cars?
First choice would be a 1963 Corvette with the split rear window w/4 speed.Second would be a 1970 Shelby GT500 Mustang fastback w/a 4 speed ,dark yellow.

Wanted: 240z in the US
Where in Mass are you? I'm on the north shore. I too have had a hard time finding anything with little or no rust. Traveling isn't in my budget though, so I'm going to have to rely on an inspection service and shipping costs. (scary) Good luck on your search.

rust repair questions
What is everyones opinion on this right side frame rail? A) Easy fix for a competant shop? Tough job and expensive to fix? C) Death of a good Z? Affected area is 6" long. Other area is at bottom of drivers door. It looks like a good car otherwise (1970) and I'm leaning towards buying it. Thanks

rail repair
When doing rail repair for rust do you just cut out the rust areas or do you replace the whole rail? Any estimates on the cost of such a project? I don't weld.

triple carbs?????
I passed on that one. It's probably closer to you than it is to me. It's at a AAmco station in Norwood ,Ma. He's asking 6K. I'm heading north to NH tomorrow to look at a 78 if it's not raining. I'm in Gloucester, north of Boston. Any pics of your 71?

triple carbs?????
Can I assume the triples aren't very reliable? My initial intention was to find a nice stock Z strictly for cruising several times a week. I know of all the trouble areas to look for problems, but here in the northeast, they are very hard to come by, and flying around the country looking for one is not in the budget. It's taken me a year to de-program my brain that it's allright to spend around 5K on a "toy" for myself.(Raised three boys so all my time and money was needed elsewhere.) The ones I do come across always seem to have a catch (triple carbs, rust, lowered, too much $$, etc...) Thanks for the feedback Carl, the search continues.......

triple carbs?????
HELP!!!! I am going to look at a 73 240z tomorrow. When I asked him if it had flattops on it he said it had triple carbs. Didn't think to ask what brand. Any experience out there with these? He said it runs really well and is in mint condition. Any tips would be appreciated... thanks!

71??z
I think 12K is a little high even here in the northeast. If it had half the miles and a mint original interior it may push 10K. I don't have that much anyway. I'll monitor it until the end before I bid. If it stays around 5-6K I'll probably jump in.

71??z
Got some pictures today. He's right! No rust! Body is very clean. I will be watching this one

71??z
Thanks for the input. He's supposed to be sending me some more pictures of the underside and floor pans. and giving me a shipping quote. We'll see. If it was an early 71, wouldn't it have rear vents?

71??z
Any thoughts, observations on this car? If I'm not mistaken, holes in the steering wheel didn't appear until 73. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2421086429&category=6187

orange 73
Are the 73's really that much of a problem car or is it just a bad reputation due to the flattops?

orange 73
Anyone had a chance to see this car up close? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2418934216&category=6187 Not sure if it will go over my budget or not. I requested some pictures, will wait and see......

WOW!!!! Flashback!!
Yeah, That's the one! Very nice. Do you suppose this model is more expensive than the Black Pearl model? Hey MWZ, go ahead, lets see some pictures! We love to see work in progress. Was the ZZAP all cosmetic or was there performance upgrades?

WOW!!!! Flashback!!
I was just cruising www.zhome.com and came across a car I had completely forgot about. It's under the collectables category and it was called the 280ZZap. Anyone remember it and more important when was the last time anyone saw one? It was bright yellow with a black stripe and rear window louvers. It says about 1,000 were produced.I can't even remember if I actually ever saw one in person. (I'll blame it on the 70's)Anyone out there have one or seen one?

EBay 260Z
This car looks very clean.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2416254716&category=6187 Anyone familiar with this car and what it might go for? Are those roundtops off a earlier 240Z? I don't think you could tell the difference if someone put 240 badges on it! Was there an interior change with the 260Z?

73 240z now available
I have 6K.

Where's the vents???
I'm guessing $7500-$8000 final bid. Any other estimates?
-
Where's the vents???
If I'm not mistaken, there should be vents on the hatch of this "70".Also it should say 2400 on the valve cover, but I can't tell for sure. Is the ashtray in the right place?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2415202683&category=6187 Oh yea, holes in the steering wheel, does this mean it's a 73?

arm rest colors
How difficult is it to change a brown interior to black? Is it a spray or rub on application? Is it the same product for plastic and vinyl/leather?Do you have to remove all the plastic panels?I was looking at a 78 with brown interior with brown armrests.
