  1. Good evening, Sorry to be late. Did you get the car running? One thing that would help spare the starter is to pull the distributor and just spin it with the key on. The injectors are triggered from the distributor. I don't have a 1978 280 any more to check stuff on for you, but have worked on the problem you have. Good luck Scooter
  2. Good evening, I have had several z's since the mid 1980's and none have opened on their own until about half way up. That does not guarantee they never did though. I don't think the car in the interview is all original (I suspect it has been restored), so it may not be an original cylinder. Good luck. Scooter

Good morning, I tend to agree, I looked at some pictures of various professional roll bars and none of them connected in that area. I have not found any factory race car photos yet. Eventually, someone will know the answer. Thanks, Scooter

Good evening, That is an interesting thought, because the shape is kind of rectangular like a mount pad for a roll bar. Perhaps that would lead to someone knowing of a roll bar mounted there. Thanks, Scooter

Good evening, Thank you for the link, I have not seen that. It will be helpful, because one of my cars has all the heater box and duct work disassembled before I bought it. I cant wait to find out what the pockets are for. Perhaps something unexpected. Thanks, Scooter

Good evening, I have not seen very good parts lists and have not seen the step lights. That is interesting. Is that something you can post a snapshot of? I would like to see? Thanks for the reply. Scooter

Good evening, I do know it is not a jack point, there is no structure there to support the weight. I have wondered about manufacturing process, but I am involved in manufacturing process and do not think that is what it is for. Whatever it is for, it is important enough for replica floor pan makers to want to include it. Thank you for your reply. Scooter

Good evening, can anyone tell me what the pocket (notch) is for in the 240z floor pan in front of the seats along the rocker? I have seen this on most floor pan kits and a couple that don't have it. I have a series one and two. The both have the pocket, but I do not see what purpose it serves. Please let me know. Thanks, Scooter
