Looking forward to that Geoff. I think that most of us are hoping that the sprints will be a AAA and not a CAMS event. A lot of basic competitors in Q heve let their CAMS licences lapse due to a lack of CAMS sprints whereas the AAA events at QR are very popular, particularly with young first timers.

Lay off the wizz then, things will look a lot straighter
  3. MSD have coils to suit electronic ignition. Mine is a Blaster 2(?), bit hard to see whats written under the clamp, and is working well. Plus its a funky red in colour

The Bosch module that I have Luke is part # 9 222 067 021. Its around five years old but was only on the car for about 2K max km because the Wolf ECU was unsatisfactory and was replaced with a MoTec which uses a different module.

A fuel injection type pickup arrangement or complete fuel injection tank would help a lot. Either that or a separate surge tank and two electric pumps. Extra fuel only slows you down, plus it sloshes from side to side which would not help rear end stability.
  6. Yeh get to work Mickie, stop wasting your time around here

Seen turbo setups for sale before, they seem to come up fairly regularly on sites like Ozdat. Unless you have 'the knowledge' buying a factory or other pro turbo setup is the only way to go. To do it properly it won't be cheap, the L engines are ancient now :tapemouth

I've got a Bosch module that used to go with the Wolf ECU, thats why I asked for a pic. Whats it worth? Don't certain electronic distributors from Skylines fit?
  9. 260DET replied to 260Zed's post in a topic in Australia & NZ
Pic? On their durability, golden rule, keep 'em cool The Bosch module on mine is mounted with that heat conducting paste on to an aluminium heatsink which is similarly mounted on a inner guard. Up near the front where it can get some cool air flow.

Mike, maybe he would come on this forum and give us some details of what he has. Rather than we all individually email him with similar questions.

Thanks mrd, the spoilers are very reasonably priced and some of his other stuff looks interesting.

My '77 has them standard. Teh late 260 is definately a superior motor vehicle :devious:
  13. IIRC my PBR cylinder came from Nissan
  14. Might be a good idea to list it here http://www.zcarclubq.org.au/
  15. PBR make a lot of brake and car hydraulic stuff in Australia and the US. So their products would be available from any general or specialist parts supplier.
  16. My clutch slave cylinder was replaced with a new PBR unit, don't know if they are still available. Have you checked local availability?
  17. 260DET replied to meandmyz's post in a topic in Suspension & Steering
Yeh, I haven't heard of anyone doing that. For that amount of trouble I'd go five stud to solve the wheel availability problem at the same time

Mine is a '77 260 and I prefer that to the lighter 240. The '77 has a lot of detail improvement over the earlier cars such as stronger front X member and struts. But then mine has a turbo engine so the little extra weight is not a straight line performance problem. By the sound of it the US 280's must have had softer suspension than the earlier models.

Don't know but I guess somewhere around AU$30000, US$21000, over seven years. About everything has been modified, some of it several times, so its been a development exercise not just a rebuild. Final major expenditures will be a new turbocharger, CV rear axles and Quaife LSD. Then I'll start on a Q45 engined 280ZX two seat coupe You may have spent your money more wisely than I have RB30-ZED by the look of things

Don't know the answer to your question but you could get the two bearings in advance (both should be replaced) pull it to bits say Fri night and get the job done say Sat am. Jon Siddons who races a Z, does targa's etc has a garage on the Gold Coast somewhere, he amy be able to suggest something.
  21. My '77 has springs in the high 200's, still tweaking around there, but with Koni Yellows. Quite comfortable to drive on the road, stiffening the body helps, but I wouldn't go anywhere near that without Koni's or Bilstein's.

Ash, if you aren't able to do copies of the ZG flares, perhaps you'd like to sell them? There is a definate demand for these flares but IMHO they have to be in stock and available for sale immediately. Not many people will place orders not knowing for sure when they will get them. I for one am a prospective reproducer, there are sure to be others
  23. 260DET replied to 260DET's post in a topic in Australia & NZ
We're waiting for you to find them DE It was a bloke in Victoria I think who had a set, the one with the red 240Z that got hit by a Porka? Or maybe not, he had made big ones that wouldn't suit most.

Four of 15x7" Challenger wheels coming up for sale very soon Geoff, no more than four weeks I would hope.

Bolt ons would be easier I suppose. Source?
